Carl Motherfuckin Sagan

Did the original premier on fox too? Seems kinda weird to have that air on a right-wing channel but will still look for it on torrents asap

So pumped for this!

I didn't know carl sagan was involved in this one, pretty excited to have neil degrasse tyson hosting i wasn't overly impressed with morgan freeman's show.

Carl Sagan has been dead since the 90's. He wasn't involved in this in any capacity other than doing the original one and being one of the first pop scientists.

I just hope it emulates the spirit of the first one-- comfortable, subdued, atmospheric, and willing to directly address superstition. But I have a feeling it's just going to jack itself off with special effects

Right thats what i meant, Carl Sagan OG cosmologist, and anticipating wether or not they can pull off something as good or close to the original

It's taking Family Guy's time slot, so I don't think the time slot was really attracting the usual biblethumping right wingers to begin with.

Also Barack Obama is supposedly introducing the premiere.

Only 27 mins in, this is some pretty good shit, anyone know how much episodes they plan on doing?

My fears of it pulling punches because aired on fox were unfounded, bit on giordano bruno was great.

Usually never watch tv series until a full season is done, gonna be hard with this one

Feel like hugging Neil Degrasse Tyson lol good job bro

13 episodes iirc. Recorded it, not watched yet. I saw NdT at a speaking event a few weeks ago, said he had just finished taping the final episode.

13 Episodes... recorded but haven't watched it yet. Supposedly two of the writers from the original show also wrote for this..

was not impressed

I was on the fence, the content was definitely lacking i am just hoping it was an intro episode kind of basic with a good historical overview.

I won't decide if i like it or not until next week

I knew most of what they were saying, its sort of an intro series anyway, just felt it was well presented and didnt lose time on redundant stuff.

Its on youtube, if you dont know how to be a bad pirate

The previous series appeared on PBS - the new series is hosted by astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson and produced by the two surviving original creators Ann Druyan (Sagann's wife) and Steven Soter, with Seth MacFarlane. Haven't watched the episode yet on PVR but looking forward to it!

I agree I'm just hoping it picks up and gets into some deeper theoretical stuff
