The low level game is dying, people are quitting by the hour, and the only thing I have to sell people on is hope and change. Can we get something, anything? Why does it feel as though every time the pop is about to hit or does hit 200 that some staff change occurs that rapes the pop? Why was exp changed now and not with velious when tons more people will be back playing? Why change it when three guilds were competing?

What is the vision for this server going forward, if there even is one?

you might want to re-evaluate how your guild is treating basically every new player then, because they're pretty much all in RD and all being either griefed away by you guys, persisting in Red Dawn, or being pushed into the arms of Nihilum.

you realize Lite is the single biggest asset/ best recruiting officer Nihilum has ever had, right? they don't even have to do anything right now for players. you can throw "feeder guild" around all day, but the reality is that if RD were one, you would only solidify that fact further by pushing new players away with grief.

There's 1000+ people on blue dawg. People burning out from EQ live, Diablo, EQ2, Wow, those other MMO wow clones every day. EQ servers use to support 3k, and 2k peak pops.

There's kids growin up to learn 2 love EQ for the first time. And I wouldn't be surprised if a bunch of people in 3rd world countries with more access than ever to 10 yr old PC's aren't interested in a bit of gaming.

...i will say that i believe the pvp level range must be adjusted to +/- 4 levels with the closer to classic xp.

i'd also like to see the xp that was recently removed be replaced as some kind of an accumulating group bonus that grew higher with the amount of people in the group, as it would encourage full 6 man groups.

I have really stayed away from this because most logical ideas and thoughts are ignored or suppressed by others who are trolls.

I wasn't against the exp reduction. However that was when a group bonus was going to be put into place. The thought was the solo exp bonus would be changed to a group. This would encourage people to group and get to know each other and make more friends vs soloing all the time.

However the exp reduction went in WITHOUT the group bonus. That is like a doctor telling you he is replacing your hearth with an artificial one and then forgetting to put in the new one. Then hooking you up to a bunch of machines telling you oh we will fix it later.

This isn't the first time something was put in half way without thinking it through. The PNP comes to mind. The teams server announcement comes to mind as well. Each of these were GM initiated changes that cost the server 20-40% of its active population.

I am thinking there might not be a plan that is agreed upon by the staff and they aren't even discussing it until they finish their priority which is velious.

I think the XP nerf was done because it was planned a while back with no fix in mind and only because of the community backlash have they talked about possible things that might be comming like a group exp bonus.

I think peoples minds run wild with what could be going on and I think if there was anything going on it would be all over the boards.

and yes, it gets very aggravating to hear the same questions being asked over and over and over again, especially after we have already addressed them (as best as we are allowed to) and after we have said more is coming and / or is in the works. so if at times you see me or another staff member getting a little trolly, its because it's really hard to take u guys serious when its the same exact shit in every post in every thread asking the same things that we've already addressed.

it's almost like some of you believe that maybe, just maybe, this strategy will somehow yield your desired results? well allow me to save you all some time, it won't.

we'll announce things when we can. until then, log in and play, or, if you have absolutely zero faith in the staff and think im just blowing smoke up your ass, then you should just uninstall and run away as fast as you can. personally, i would never play on a server where i didn't trust the staff.

Same issue has been addressed multiple times, in multiple threads, by multiple staff members. We are not stupid. We had a plan going into this, and part of that plan was getting everyone off the insane accelerated XP cold turkey. Everyone will just have to wait and see what else is in store for Red 99.

We're not trying to be condescending, dismiss your concerns, or ignore you. There is just only so much we can say. We have a very specific, very controlled plan for not only how things will be implemented, but also how they will be announced, that all ties into revitalizing the box and getting Red99 the population it deserves.

We get flamed, trolled, called-out, insulted, and ranted at, but your Project 1999 staff still, and always will, care. We have a big place in our hearts for our red pals, large and small, and continue to work to make this box flourish like it should.

and yes, it gets very aggravating to hear the same questions being asked over and over and over again, especially after we have already addressed them (as best as we are allowed to) and after we have said more is coming and / or is in the works. so if at times you see me or another staff member getting a little trolly, its because it's really hard to take u guys serious when its the same exact shit in every post in every thread asking the same things that we've already addressed.

We're not trying to be condescending, dismiss your concerns, or ignore you. There is just only so much we can say. We have a very specific, very controlled plan for not only how things will be implemented, but also how they will be announced, that all ties into revitalizing the box and getting Red99 the population it deserves.

We get flamed, trolled, called-out, insulted, and ranted at, but your Project 1999 staff still, and always will, care. We have a big place in our hearts for our red pals, large and small, and continue to work to make this box flourish like it should.

I think currently there is just a 100% bonus from lvl 0 to 50, adding a group bonus is great for 50-60 because most people those levels have people to group with already but for those that are 1-50 its fairly useless because those are the lvls where its hard to find people to group with

I know for a fact this propagandist image of Chewie is completely false.

He prob plays too much EQ. (we all do) But he's actually not as bad as me. He still has an income. And he never boxes. He has a 100% clean whistle. The guy is a gentleman and a scholar. He even cares about peoples feelings. He's very protective of newbies. I have personally seen him deguild veteran pro pvpers because they were being assholes in /guildchat towards a newb/ignorant player.
