It would allow people to play combinations that you don't see people play solo.

If anything allow boxing during like a 12am to 12pm timer, when there is no one on. disallow all boxing for any sort of raid content during that time if there is any. Used for exp/group/PLing only. But like the GMs have said, the chances of boxing ever become legit even with low pop is slim to none. We have a better chance of the exp being upped.

I figure they could have some rules around what classes you can box together to limit certain things.

Maybe only allow boxing to a certain level, then you have to group with other players.

Make it a bannable offense to PL your own characters through boxing.

Trying to come up with some solutions that will help, since they have made it clear that the exp will not be coming back.

Boxing will help put groups together in my opinion, because boxing always floods tanks and healers. The server would just need those tanks and healers to invite other players to group up.

you remember before the server was full of pvp tanks like warrior sk paladin, and rogues? It was all wizard mages enchanters druids useless classes that couldnt take on these beefy classes in real pvp. Don't you remember the entire realize WHY all almost all of Azrael rerolled their squishy to a PVP class that could hold its own.

This is why there is such a strong melee pvp presence on the server now, Plus wizards got nerfed first with pillar cast time/range check then resists as did druid Frost spell. Melee are just OP in pvp if you have more, with casters in the back assisting dropping bombs vs front line of casters/healers.

+/-4 level range (level range matters little at 56, which is easily obtainable)

It's mythological that +/-4 decreases pvp, it increases fairness and decreases the desire for greencon newbz to plug to redcon twinks.

If population is slowly rising cause the server sucks less for non-quake players. Than your going to get more pvp.

Classic resists so you can farm decent MR gear by level 30 for any class.

Make blind way less effective. Still 2 good lands way to often. If it lands over 60mr it should only last about 5 seconds tops. Nerf bards, with 100% exp penalty IMO.

How would boxing ruin your gaming experience on red99? I'm speaking from the perspective of a lvl 60 who competes for raid targets (and who will be doing so in velious). Also I'm speaking to the perspective of lowbies who are leveling. As far as I can tell you don't really fit into either catagory. You are the 1%, who allowing boxing will have no affect on. For the rest of us 99% it affects and in my opinion, for the better.

Anyone with half a brain can make friends on this server. It takes almost no effort to get SLN, regen, and thorns from a druid in unrest.

I discovered that VZTZ was a thing in like 2009? Make a cleric/warrior duo and made it to level 20 (which took no time at all) before I quit. Ooc chatter and the forums made it clear that no one wanted to play EQ, and there was literally no one to group with. Boxing up to 50+ to play Counterstrike pvp is not my idea of fun, and it would hurt this server just like it did VZTZ.

Yep, and it's really bad with top heavy/fast exp servers. SZ was superbad in this way.

Everyone always assumes that boxing would kill groups, but I think it promotes them.

Groups rarely happen without at LEAST having a Healer. Boxing promotes healings classes, as people don't have to main that class.

There is the potential to make finding groups easier, and the potential for people to just play by themselves and ignore people who are LFG.

The community on this server leads me to believe they would be inviting, and not total shitbags like you see on the forums.

Boxing a PL should be against the rules. Otherwise you could level a MNK/DRU and PL all of your own characters.

That would ruin the idea of boxing to promote grouping.
