In a hospital for a day or two. The wifi lets me connect, but after 30-90 seconds all PCs and NPCs disappear until I dump out a few minutes later. Any workaround to this, or is it the hospital's deal?

It's the hospital's deal. You might have better luck using your phone as a hotspot. If you're worried about bandwith charges, there are generally a few good downloadable programs that will let you bypass the associated fees. Just be sure and read the specs so you get one that works with your phone and OS

Shouldn't have to worry about bandwidth in a game like EQ.

I have an iPhone on AT&T. I have one of the super old unlimited data plans. I thought I had to do special stuff via AT&T to make it a hot spot? Is there a way to do it myself? If so my life will change like whoa!

I've never done it but the word seems to be "tethering".

No chance of that in the UK unless you can find a REALLY good data deal.

p1999 takes up practically zero bandwidth to play. Honestly, you'll spend more data on looking at the forums/wiki during down time.

Get a dongle/tether. If you only play EQ not forum quest on it I reckon you won't get thru a Gig of data in a month.

I have a driod so not sure how to do it on an iPhone. might want to start by looking for an app or icon that is titled "mobile hotspot" or "portable wifi hotspot" or something similar. Start it up, make sure you name it and password protect it (just like you would your wifi modem at home). Once it's up and running, connect to it with your computer, just like you would any access spot

Tethering your phone will work but the connection will be essentially unplayable.. you will be able to log in and chat and do certain things but its too risky to fight.

LOL naw, very wrong. I almost exclusively tether on my phone and I run eq and teamspeak at the same time. It works just fine. I have a galaxy s2 and the program I use to side step paying for a hotspot is a program called "Treve's mod". Root your phone and bask in the glory.
