1 Install Bootcamp.
2 Install your Windows OS of choice.
3 Run Everquest.

Use WINE or crossover games. There is an issue with the game crashing when rain starts tho, but i think there is a way to recompile wine to get around it. I use Crossover games so I just have to wait for the rain to go away :(.
The above suggestions work if your mac is an intel mac. PowerPC users are out of luck, as far as I can tell.

I use WINE under LINUX and it doesn't crash at all. Must be a Crossover thing...
You need to make a small change to WINE and recompile, I'm actually doing this right now, perhaps I should post a HOWTO... ? Anyone give a shit LOL?

Yes! I give a shit!
Tried to run EQ under WINE. Even found info on changing some stuff and recompiling, I got it to compile but never got EQ to run right. Please share!!!

K. I had to repartition my Ubuntu box last night (finally got tired of the old way it was set up) and did a fresh install, just getting it all working again and I'll post my exact steps. Are you running Ubuntu 10.04 or ?

I just installed last night and the issue I am currently struggling with ( I'm running parallels) is resolution. The game refuses to load unless I change the desktop resolution down to 800x600. Running winXp on parallels btw. Anybody run into this? Don't want to keep playing in a window 1/4th the size of my screen lol

Edit eqclient.ini manually, don't use Options. You can then set it to any resolution supported on your desktop.
This really needs to be a FAQ someone, I type it at least every other day :)
EDIT: Added to Pyrocat's FAQ thread.
