It has been down for 2 hours thus far, and no, no one can give you a specific time. If the people working on the server deem it worth while to give us a time, they shall. But they are doing unpaid work to maintain a free server for us all to nostalgia on, and we don't even get server downs every week for maintenance.

I am more than content to just sit by and wait patiently. It's a small price to pay.

I used to give out sleeping bags at a homeless shelter once, and they were free.
Sometimes we ran out and had to wait on more. When people asked 'hey, any idea when they'll be available again?' I'd make sure and do my best to find out and I certainly wouldn't get uppity against someone for asking - with the attitude of 'shutup bitch, it's free, they'll arrive when they arrive.'

Granted, homeless people and their sleeping arrangements is more grave than a video game, but the underlying principle is the same.

Why give ETAs if you do not stick to them. It's not like they are doing it on purpose.

Just because it's free doesn't mean it shouldn't be run like a regular company. The 1,000 people who play this game do like the ability to plan their time accordingly.

This whole it's free thing is such a bad attitude. By in large the server thrives because people do donate money on a monthly basis. Yes it is free to most of us, but you must have an obligation to the small percentage of folks who do give money.

Also, an ETA is not what is needed. Just a simple response and update of any kind of would suffice.

It isn't something that is done on purpose (although it'd be an awesome troll if it was). Like when you go to a restaurant with a wait and the hostess says 30 minutes and then a few tables decide to sip on an extra bottle of wine so you end up waiting an hour do you go and cuss out the hostess because she couldn't predict an undefinable ETA for you? Same with computers, unexpected shit happens.
