natty is always a sure thang but if im gonna drop 1500 on video cards i want to get the most out of it ya know..do not look to replace or upgrade fer like 5 years unless it breaks.

I think you're overspending on video cards if you're spending $1500. That's excessive even for a hardcore gamer who actually plays games that came out recently.

I've been using the same vid card for the past 4+ years and still run new gen games fine. If you hesitate about technology upgrades, you'd never actually buy anything because the next big thing is always around the corner. Just the nature of the beast.
Typically you won't need to spend nearly that much money on a GPU if you're just using the machine for gaming. Probably cheaper to wait til the newer model comes out and then buy the ones you're looking at now.

The 780 Ti's are like 700 dollars each @ newegg
I figure the 800 series will probably close to 900 each when they first come out.
The last time I built a desktop was 7 years ago top Video card at that time was only 350 bucks. Shit has changed.
So i do not look at it as overspending if computers/games are what I enjoy spending a few grand one time every 5-6 years is cheaper than a lot of other hobbies nawmean

just unnecessary
I spent $200 on a video card 4 years ago and am still doing great.

If you have the disposable income and you aren't hurting for vid speeds atm wait for the 800's.

haha yes it can...that game is on its way to being an all time fav
o yea Jeremy
I sometimes 12 boxed on Eqmac (that was my record) actually killed the mob i was going after. My computer handled that just fine. Same computer runs Rust at like 10fps max, The game is gpu hungry!

Waiting to see some decent patches come through before I start back on it. Spent a ton of time playing before zombies got bombed. Personally can't wait for trap doors, partial ceilings and ladders to be added. Base design needs some more spice to it.

my entire desktop with monitor was half that cost. guess what its 5 years old and dominates p99. my monitor is also one of those big stupid boxes no flat screen here. keeping it classic over here

Last time I built a computer the top video card price was 350 dollar range, 2 cores was top of the line CPU and SSD's were far 2 expensive. No reason for you still having a CRT monitor tho can get a 17 inch flat screen for like 50 bucks bro!
I always get super excited when i start planning out a build. I always hate to see 2-3 grand being spent on something that will be worth half in 6 months. I feel like there are a lot of new and fun games on the horizon and i need to be ready !

Recently I was trying to decide which card to get..
I decided on a 4g gtx 770 classified. (p4-3778-kr (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130925))
The price was reasonable enough now.. to purchase one cheaper later and finish off the SLI. Two 780s are just too much money for what you get, imo.

I just don't use my pc for enough gaming to necessitate that sort of system. I would love to have one! but even with a topend machine it would still game like crap because i live in the sticks and my internet is awful.
