Hey guys, i have an uncle who used to play EQ live and is playing p99 now but hes got a job at ups that requires him to work 10-12 hrs a day and he has a wife and 2 kids. Now my question is can you get banned for letting a family member afk and leech for long periods of time?

Lets say as an example he goes to work and i let him leech experience but we both have different ip's, will we get banned if someone reports us as boxing?

Thanks

I can't imagine this would be a problem. Anyone accusing you of boxing would quickly see that the "box" isn't doing anything at all.

if you're on different IP's i don't see how it would be any different than if I let a friend I met on P99 sit afk in grp while I killed stuff. Shouldn't be a problem IMO.

this is actually how i leveled my sk in the late 30s-mid 40s in early 2010, friend logged on my SK and afked him all day while i slaughtered specs with my mage

the GMs would just kick his account after hes afk for a certain amount of time. if you logged it back in, then you will result in problems

If you are reported. The gms show up and you can't pass the test then you get banned. You can appeal it and have it investigated. But that is a hassle. Probably better to have him level his own guy.

i dont see how he'd ever get reported unless the char is afked right next to him

It is sort of flaky. I think overall it is too risky. YMMV.

Been afk with bards swarming for hours and afk in chardok ae groups on many occasions. aslong as you dont remote into his PC and play his too your good.

It doesnt break any rule imo, but you'll be reported eventually, and only the GM's opinion will count.
