What do you guys use?

I wanted to pick up enough to play online poker since its the only way I know of to play legal in the US til some legislation changes that.. hopefully soon.

Or is there no way to do this?

Personally avoid all of that stuff, so shady. Mt Gox pretty much ran off with everyones money and they were probably the biggest exchange. Sealswithclubs, the biggest bitcoin poker site, has tons of collusion and recently their db was hacked. Besides that, probably one of the softest poker sites on the net but too many risks for me.

And you can play legally from the US, there are a few sites that offer. The only thing that is illegal is for banks to process payments, but that has nothing to do with you. I'd recommend americas cardroom, haven't heard of anyone being stiffed and I know a few yrs back those games were pretty soft.

Wait so can you elaborate? How does one cash out if you can't process payments?

I forget the specifics (been some yrs), but it is 100 perc possible (done it a few times). Basically the difference is that its harder to get funds onto these sites, and getting them off is not a problem at all, but it usually takes something like 3-4 weeks to get the cash in hand. Not the most ideal situation but its workable if you really want to play.

Right now I have about 10k wrapped up in bitcoins because Mtgox is having problems with transactions and it's actually causing the overall price of Bitcoins to crash pretty hard. Might lose all that money if they actually go under over it, but I doubt they will. I have heard better things about Coinbase, but it's up to you if you wish to try to go into the area of digital currency.

Bovada offers a free cashout once/month and worked fine for me.
