I didn't play ranked at all in Season 3, as I didn't even start playing League until last Summer. I am excited for competitive play.

Naez and I are 3-1 in our provisional games, doin' good work. We usually do adc/support (it works out well since we sit next to each other IRL). If not, I enjoy mid (Ziggs or Ahri).

I've played a bit since season 1 and really enjoy watching the competitive matches. I haven't been very motivated to finish my placements, but I'm 3-1 atm.

Ranked is too cancerous on EUW, too many idiots...but I used to play Volibear solo top a lot and did a solid job, or Kayle support - which everyone ranted at until they saw how good Kayle is :)

Maybe I don't understand what all goes into the equation for placements. I was playing support, and I was doing duo queue games - does that mean I earn less "points" (or whatever they use for calculations) than if I were a solo lane or solo queue?

Didn't know that negative K/D ratios also go into it. But no, nothing major.

Any ideas on what else goes into their calculations?

Shit sucks. Bronze is hell, full of trolls and just straight bad players. I know I'm not the best Leaguer, but I am at least of Silver quality :c

He was put into Bronze II, I got placed in Bronze I.

What were you placed last season? If you were low bronze or unplaced then it makes sense that you were placed in bronze even after winning 7 games. Everything in the league division system is based off of MMR (match maker rating), and not actual your division.

Was placed in Bronze I during like, the last week of Season 3.

Oh, and to the few other questions. If you duo with someone the same MMR as you, you gain rating at a slightly lower rate, though it's hardly negligible. Also, KDA does not affect your LP/mmr gain. If that were the case, supports would never climb.

your last season placement, your hidden MMR, and how effective you were in the matches all have a role in where you are placed now. I also was placed bronze but the competition was so god awful i carried myself out in 2-3 days. working towards gold now which shouldnt be much longer.

Also, it is possible to "boost" your MMR by duo queuing with someone of a significantly higher MMR IF they are capable of carrying you. Risky for them if they feel they will get into 4v5 matches but if they are confident its do-able. More so if you eat it and take the support role. I know a popular female streamer who was a bronze player prior to streaming, got a few lonely nerd high end players interested in her good looks and got elo boosted into legitimacy.

Duoing will raised both of your MMR slightly when it tries to match you against others. If you win a game you gain less MMR than normal. If you lose a game you lose more MMR than normal. Since this is your first time playing ranked you will start with a low MMR rating. After several more games you should end up where you belong.

It is too late now, but at the beginning of next season you will definitely want to solo your placement matches. Unless you don't mind the penalty, of course.

KDA has no effect towards placement, LP, or MMR.

Silver is shit, super mad I got placed back in Silver 2 after a 70% win rate, actually got trolled after provisionals in 3 straight games. Oh well Climbing back into Silver 2 and spending 3 months trying for gold 5.

Played friend's bronze accounts and played multiple accounts to diamond 1. Can confirm trolling/raging never gets better and people will always have horrible games.
