We waited for them at hammer relic keep, soon as they pulled guards they got a surprise, we ran them down like dogs, some got away but we got a lot of kils

Game is really easy to learn. You can google any minmax on how to build your character. My issue is simply the exploiting was not fixed. I don't want to grind to max lvl while others got there in a day cheating.

Also, it's kind of boring to be honest. But that my opinion.

Server stayed up all day/night without any issues, there was virtually no lag even with that 73 (you guys) v 50 (us) -- still fair numbers tho in daoc terms cuz of aoe powa.

I play on this server. You are sitting here refreshing on a forum for a game you despise. Everything I said makes perfect sense as the person above also stated. Everyone exploited to max level already. Definitely not a good server to join as a person new to the game.

I have a lvl 20 Cleric on Albion. Made it because I thought I would need to group to exp. Saw exploits and quit. Thinking about playing again. Is exp still sort of fast or is it real slow now? Is there a good Albion guild to join?

Most of the people online when they took the strength relics were people lfg 1-40.

I expected it to be /who and everyone 50. It's quite literally not the case.

As far as coming new to the game? You come on down to Hib and Uncle Nirgon will straighten you up/learn u good.

Cwall played maybe a week or two in live and came here... he's firing on all cylinders now doing bgs/lvling.

Like the xp thing? It didn't rape the server like I would have thought from reading. Most of it is from butt hurt people who couldn't register due to overwhelming demand spewing the mads because they couldn't get max level fast. I personally enjoyed coming up and doing the lower level battlegrounds rather than skipping all of that content.

Soda getting kills, having great gear and not being a spaz on this server. I just said I don't want to be a beginner on a 15 year old game, don't be so upset buddy. It isn't a mystery that people have to constantly hold her hand and it was an annoyance to have her around. I just said I wouldn't want to deal with that on DAOC. If anything I'm saying the things Soda struggles with is inevitable when thrown into that type of situation and it is one of few comments directed towards Soda on here that shouldn't be upsetting you so much.

Depending on time of day Mid/Hib are one higher than the other. Usually pretty close. Supposedly Alb was going to be enormous, so I dunno how active that realm is and don't want to get banned making an x-realm account to check.

I rolled Hib based on class choice tbh. If I knew more about the Albs, I'd tell ya. From the guys I've talked to that are on Alb, they aren't rolling out till they are fully templated/have alts ready for their core 8v8s depending on who is online.

I explained to them that a VERY SMALL percent of the population isn't even close to being templated. They didn't care, they were extremely set in their ways that a character without a perfect gear set shouldn't step out in the frontiers... even if everyone else doesn't have a perfect gear set. These guys are also pushing for the Uthgard style BULL SHIT where they work across faction to arrange 8v8s. What this does is creates drama within the factions (don't jump on the people we arranged a fight with!), an exclusive RvR scene where people only play when their full group is on... and a lower pop.

That said, I wish the Albs doing this well and am also very glad to see Hib/Mid aren't playing into this bull shit too much. This isn't every Alb I'm sure but.. that's what I know for now.

To be sure a few things pals:
1. It is NOT the case that every single person but you is level 50 because of the xp stuff.
2. There are tons of groups and guilds xping/leveling/doing dragon PvE shit.
3. The server uptime is a hundred fold improved. I admit it was problematic for the lesson stubborn to play player at first.
4. The cap is no longer 800. I saw 1100-1200 online.. they may even need a bigger boat still.
5. The few bugs I've seen are that fletching (staff making trade skill) doesn't work and keep doors don't resist the shit out of all damage besides rams (they are good at fixing bugs so far). The server hasn't even been out 2 months btw :P.

Great server to play on while you wait for Alecta to bless the server with fat resist/pvp mechanic fixes. You'll spend less time losing your mind over Kunark pixels and more time patiently waiting for Velious/PvP patches and trying/enjoying another cult classic PvP game.

Hippo you won't be the "newb" on the server. There's tons of clueless people. Max level doesn't take that long and you can PvP as you go up.

pop of mid / hib is pretty much even

sadly they had a weird advantage the first week or two with having less lag then mid, I cant tell you how many 8v8 fights I had in the beginning where we were lagged and they were functioning fine.

They got to take a lot of keeps that didn't have guards, and they exploit stole relics also

However, now many are catching up in levels, exp is still great in a group

if you aren't aware of this, DAOC encourages players to group for exp and rewards everyone heavily.

You can level to 50 casually in a week here just by saying you are lfg.

There is pve raids, pvp raids , 8 man groups and a progressive pvp system with rewards for everyone

Not even sure what story you are talking about. Only time I died was way after any PvP when it was just Basturd, some level 40 necro and myself. For some reason Basturd said oh shit and gated/logged right after a pull so I was soloing a couple ghouls and had no chance. The 40 necro couldn't even get a root to land. I still haven't seen Basturd on since that night but he left with my IVU potion I lent him. I will give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he had a RL emergency.

If you saw my corpse later that night after I logged and count that as a moral victory for yourself go ahead dude. Whatever you need to keep you logging in and add to the population.

Every "resists are wrong" statement I saw, I've been able to prove wrong in testing.
