we got the two their own litter box and they used it as soon as we got it, like had held it in until then. definitely lucked out

don't know about the teaching thing. my cat's mom was eaten by a fox/coyote (he was feral) when he was 3/4 days old and he buries everything he drops like a champ.

We introduced the kittens to the dogs a bit ago. My two dogs are pretty small, one is a Chihuahua, and the other is a Jack Russell Terrier / Chihuahua mix.

I was really worried that the kittens were going to get bullied by the dogs being hyper, trying to play too aggressively, or just getting in their faces in general. My dogs aren't mean and have gotten along fine with my 4 year old cat (they mostly avoid each other), but these kittens are much more exploratory and curious than her.

Much to my surprise, my dogs were fairly scared of the kittens. The kittens held their own very well with hisses and kitten punches to da face. I think they'll get along once they realize they're stuck here together, even if 'getting along' means avoiding each other.

You get used to claw marks and scratches. One of my cats only has three legs (bone cancer survivor :) She's awesome) and she loses her balance when standing or walking on me while I'm laying down, or jumping in my lap, and she uses her claws for stability. I get some pretty nice scratches from it.

I took her in as a tiny kitten years before she was diagnosed :( But on the plus side many people would have just let her die due to the expense so she lucked out with me.
