Is the universe making people or are we just part of this universe and one of it's wierd quirks? I don't see our image everywhere, we're not the only ones.

Further, the implications of God are the implications of us owing our existence to a greater power, we are nothing more than cattle/slaves/commodity/children/chattle at that point.

Whatever calls it self god over me, might consider re-evaluating it's thought processes. Sure, I might be snuffed out as an individual, but my spirit will live on and there is no greater force in this universe than your own willpower and determination. Might be that a "diety" might experience humility at some point in it's existence.

It is easier for me to state what I don't believe.

For example, I don't believe there is an omnipotent being that created and oversees the universe. Especially the Judeo-Christian version of such a being that requires humans, and no other lifeforms, to worship it and follow a code of conduct that said being is unwilling to follow itself. Hypocrites shouldn't be glorified.

I do not believe in chance. The probability of us existing in the state we are in without some kind of influence is very low. I don't believe anyone has a grip on the truth though.

Lastly I believe science brings us closer to the truth which in turn brings us closer to God or w/e higher being/existence is out there. Organized religion is a joke.

Ya, the probability is extremely low, but the time scale between the formation of the earth, and the complexity of present day life is huge. It took approximately 1 billion years for life to show up on earth, approximately another 2.5 billion years until multicellular organisms evolved, and another 1 billion years for life as we know it to evolve. So if the probability is low, but the time scale is huge, life could evolve without some external influence.

I agree that no one has all the answers, yet... However, why would not having all the answers lead to the belief in a conscience supernatural being having influenced the process? Isn't it enough to marvel at the awesomeness of life without having to attribute your existence to mysticism?

One thing I do believe is that the concept of a god came about to explain the unexplainable. Don't understand what those little dots of light in the night sky are? Don't worry about it, god made them.
