Neat ideas, likely won't succeed. Especially putting so many must have features behind ridiculous stretch goals.

I wouldn't doubt a team led by him. It is a bit mind blowing thinking about how quickly the first coupe of expansions for Everquest were released. Not only was the content churned out quickly but it was highly original and innovative.

After loving the worlds of both EQ and Vanguard, no choice but to donate and play this

Someone who played vanguard I am surprised you don't remember people losing characters for up to a month and the endless bugs that made it unplayable for months. I love what he did but eq was easier to make content for back then when the development kit for eq was simplified. They also released kunark with missing zones, and epics not working. So it had a lot of issues as we'll.

So many people can't use the search engine... :(

$1,800,000 for druids? Over $3mill for Halflings? Aside from the fact that developing a new race/class (especially one that's existed largely unchanged since 1st edition D&D) doesn't cost millions of dollars, these stretch goals are ridiculous.

Im pretty sure the 1.8 mil doesn't go to only developing druids, its just an extra to help continue funding.

Yeah they said all the stretch goals are getting revamped and they will probably end up getting investor funding after a successful kickstarter. I am perplexed though that some staple classes are not listed as core game elements. Hopefully they get all the money they need and can make all pur favorite classes part of the game at launch. Fingers crossed.

Vanguard wasn't his fault. They ran out of money. His design was solid. Hopefully this kickstarter is what they need to show investors they have a lot of public interest. Fingers crossed!

He was in charge. He didn't lead. Part of it's failure is his responsibility. Microsoft pulled out when they saw their money was being thrown away. Yes, it is his fault.

His designs and ideas for games are still unmatched. Hopefully his team will come through for us and deliver a fully realized product.

I agree that he's a great designer. He just shouldn't be in charge.

People change and mature. He is much older now. Maybe he has actually learned from his mistakes. Only time will tell!

Absolutely, but I will no longer give him the benefit of the doubt. With that said, I really do hope it succeeds.
