I've received invites to a couple tests, forwarded both emails to my brother. I think he tried it last time and couldn't finish the newbie quest line because of a bug and uninstalled.

Only way I might play is on the console. I think games designed for both platforms are always going to cater to the majority which will be the Xbox/PS users.

So is it really just Oblivion the MMO? I played/beat Oblivion, thought it was a good game but FUCK I HATE the combat system in that game. You can literally just backpedal and swing your sword and slay shit thats waaaaay out of your range.

I beta tested it last go-round, and got an invite for this weekend as well. It's a really pretty game, but beyond that it isn't all that engaging. It feels SUPER clunky and disconnected in regards to combat. They have a long way to go on the combat side of things ALONE before the game feels solid.

great start ESO! that being said im a huge fanboy and will likely get to mid-high lvl when released because of this.

that being said I've tried every fantasy mmo that has hit the market since everquest was launched and here I am playing.....everquest so we'll have to see. Every mmo sucks ass at launch and then gets fixed and playable about the time i decide it's not fun anymore and quit.

It'll be the first major MMORPG coming out on Xbox/PS3 right? At least fantasy themed. I think that alone plus the IP will make it pretty successful actually. Whether it'll actually be a decent game remains to be seen though.

I can see it being a great console game but a shitty PC game. The MMORPG bar on PC is set really high, but its a new thing to a lot of console only gamers.

Apparently, some people who gave it more time than i did say that it never gets better, sandbox wise. Youre just hopping from quest zone to quest zone which isnt elder scrolls to me. That thing is going to crash and burn so hard. Feels like something that was Dev'd hot on the heels of WoW to cash in but its like 8 years too late. I played like 2 hours and never logged back in.

Dont even feel like giving feedback because when you put this much time designing a game youre not going to scrap big chunks of it, its gonna be little tweaks here and there so no use in asking them "hey... what about a sandbox game, you know like an elder scrolls game?"

I have beta tested a couple times and I can honestly tell you it is not worth it. The projected paths for each "class" offers even less than skyrim has now. (which is even less from oblivion and morrowind)

Your skills are already picked (not many)and you will know them ahead of time from the start. There is absolutely no variance due in part most likely to balancing issues. I love Elder scrolls with a passion and also fallout and I assure you guys what you THINK would make a great game is not what they are making.

In a time of Free to play games offering so much this game will go from p2p to f2p fast as fuck and I wouldn't be surprised if they already have the f2p format on standby after the cash grab is done.

Morrowind to Skyrim with the major change being mindless button spamming with very little brain input needed to play. . . it gets worse. . .but for all those that are blind to corporate greed and stockholders running the gaming show these days by all means go fucking waste your money.

Story and setting is only icing on the cake, it cant make a game, the game is the cake. If i want a good story ill open up a book. If you give me a game with great gameplay that has the icing on the cake, ill take it.

Emergent gameplay is the future of "serious" MMOs, not this happy-go-lucky helpy dark elf minicar ride bullshit. They might sell units, gain fans in the 8-15 age bracket, but yeah.

Im having fun with storm, story feels generic a bit but gameplay to me is solid. Its an ARPG though so im judging it within that framework. Its not the best thing since sliced bread. But fun enough to coop this with a RL bud.

I put off playing for a long time because i thought it would suck. Its basically the best superhero game i ever played, gameplay wise. It reminds you of those late 80s early 90s capcom games but with more customization. I liked city of heroes better only because you could make your own hero.

Yeah PoE mops the floor with D3 (at least in the state it launched, which i played for a week max), its not my thing to go all out with these sort of games though which is why i like Marvel Heroes, its more casual friendly. I invest time strictly in MMOs these days if i wanna go deep in a game.

Kinda wish Mechwarrior had more meat on the bones cuz i could see myself playing alot of a game thats a mix of that and eve online.

Darkfall is the closest to the game id like to play but skill system is stupid bad. Gathering from a magical bush (every bush in the game) that gives out every herb component in the game. That is terrible. Game is full of stuff like this. Craft 500 gloves to skill up but you gotta delete every single one of those gloves by hand because youre now encumbered and they dont give you enough bank space to store em if you feel like trying to sell them later. Maybe another example of a bean counter vision for a game (Hey, lets make em delete 500 gloves, at each tier! Thatll keep them occupied and subbed!)

Its fun to play once youve skilled up and attack other player cities, but itll take them 10 years to get more meat on this games bones and even with time they dont seem to get how to design fun stuff for their players to do.
