how close to get exp

How close does one need to be to get experience for a kill. Been trying to find a number in old pages but have not been successful. Anyone know offhand, with evidence?

im not 100% but im quite certain it is 1/2 level of highest char in group +5 after level 10.

So if theres a 20 in group you have to be at least 15 to group, 1/2 20 = 10 + 5 = 15

if its not that its something very similar.

Pretty sure it's 500.

I mean distance from mob when it was killed. I found some evidence that it should be 500, though it is from relatively new posts.
