View Full Version : PSA to Sirken: MASS PVP
Red Dawn is here... and Nihilum is going nowhere...
Loot'n'Scoot as it currently stands was manufactured for small pvp encounters and is being abused to sway battles in Mass PVP...
We need a separate, defined and deliberate ruleset for Mass PVP encounters... I feel that there will be many to come with two very large and very formidable guilds on Red99.
Please use this thread to discuss what you think rules should encompass... here's my belief.
LNS should be called by Guild Leaders. When a Guild Leader calls LNS it acts as a white flag or surrender.
At the point that LNS is called by a guild leader, fighting must cease... and the guild that called for LNS have full immunity to grab corpses and move on... they must leave asap and the winning guild must not attack them.
I know it will be hard... but please attempt to not shit up the thread too much... just post your opinion or criticism towards what I have portrayed.

Your proposed rule simply favors the guild who has 3+ characters for each player.
I challenge that Jizzar would *NEVER* call LNS. Nihilum would never have need to. They would simply "regroup" and push again.
Hardly conducive to a competitive & fun-for-all atmosphere... but then I guess we may be playing the wrong game for that.

This is how vztz 3.0 was enforced by sirken and voidd. You didn't have to call LNS and could bind rush or continue to contest but the second an officer called LNS it was for the entire guild and could freely get their corpse and had to leave for an hour. Also multiple zones could be contested at once and you had to LNS from them as well. For example fight breaks out in dread lands portal for chardok, spills to bw and then goes to chardok. DL Bw and CD OK are all considered contested and must be scooted out of

I'm pretty sure Lite could supply a steady 5 hours rotation of toons, but I do see your point. Like I said, not saying my vision is perfect, but I don't think the forums can hold up if there's 48 new threads every time there's mass pvp

This was my original idea, but honestly the idea that a fight over a mob will be fought once, and not this 8 hour battle of attrition of who has more playtime and can take more life sucking punishment is kinda nice.
I like the current rules, one fight - losers leave no crying no raging, no draggin it on for hours.

Lite and myself might have access to multiple lvl 60s but Nihilum have 3-4 lvl 60 VP geared toons each. That is a lot of waves to fight with 40 people that just started here and are half planar/half leather gear without lvl 60 or any good spells. Nizzar will never give up, that is why he won the box. But recently, his not giving up is getting more and more of his accounts suspended. Now he is tapping into retired players account to get them suspended.

I think Sirken is correct on this one. But the OP does have a point about guild vs guild fights, its not ideal in the current system either, while it works reasonably well for smaller encounters.

I think Sirken is correct on this one. But the OP does have a point about guild vs guild fights, its not ideal in the current system either, while it works reasonably well for smaller encounters.
Thank you Ruban, I attempted to make the thread in hopes people would improve upon my idea... I too agree with Sirken in retrospect, however I do believe whole heartedly that some people are taking rules meant toprotect and keep casual players involved, engaged and playing are being used as a tool of war in Mass PVP.
Anyone have thoughts on this?
I see people every day putting themselves in vulnerable situations where an opposing force can easily break the rules...often on accident

Who makes the call to surrender for a guild if the leader is suspended for breaking server rules along with his number 2?

Nope, PNP can stay. Just disable the LNS for any raids greater than 12 people.
Now, I will add this... You cannot camp peoples corpses for anymore time than needed to kill the mob at the contested zone.
For example, once nagafen is dead then LNS would be granted.

There shouldn't be any camping of corpses period. Why do you want to promote a system where you zerg with numbers and camp corpses? Then you are just rooting for a system where people continue to die and run back into pvp for hours until enough people get bored and log off.
The point of a LnS pvp system is so there can be a full scale battle where if you die you are out of the fight and guilds can establish their dominance in a zone.
For example. Last night Red Dawn won the fight for Sol B and was given the right to raid any targets in that zone while Nihilum won the zone control battle for lavastorm and had the right to all raid targets in that zone.
Each guild won the zone they were going for and had the right to all its pixels.

Simple. So simple that even a few Nihilum members can understand it. :D
All the GMs need do is ban the ones that can't or won't follow the rules.
Pro tip: When GMs announce their presence in zone via OOC, you should follow the rules.

You don't realize that some Nihilum players will stay awake for 36 hours straight and will never want to call LNS but keep throwing themselves at you to disrupt your raid until they faint from their wheel chairs.

I'll bite, endless bind rushing wasn't that much of a problem AFAIK. Just people fearing pvp because it was a 12 hr CR.

i totally agree, pnp if worded properly can definitely be helpful to determine mass pvp situations but besides that there shud b no pnp. the only ppl happy w pnp is red dawn, an they shud b, it was put into place just for them.

Its a lazy ass way to solve those few people who get a kick out of deleveling someone out of 20 levels like what happened to citychamp a year ago or something. Killing a fly with a nuclear bomb.
They think root cause problems on server is griefers but root cause is ill advised ruleset pieces like PnP and Xp loss in pvp coupled with ignoring player feedback.
