As we look forward to the release of Velious, can we think back to the reason for Project 1999? It was to follow a classic timeline for the release of expansions to emulate what occurred between 1999 and 2001.
So, I propose that at some point close to when Velious is released on P1999 Blue, can you please also launch another classic server, that starts with the launch of classic and follows the true timing of the release of expansions? (I.e. After 11 months, Kunark, 12 months later, Velious. And then when Shadows of Luclin is set to be released, merge this ACTUAL Project 1999 server with our current Project.
This server would also have no GM intervention from the community standpoint (no GM raid rules, no variance).
The reason for this is that the server as it stands now is clearly not classic from the standpoint of the true purpose of the Project. We also now know of duplicated platinum, and the great number of rare items in circulation (Donal's BP), not to mention the vitriolic conversation about raid rules -- to be administered by GMs.
