Nilbog posts a single image, which under any other circumstances would be MEANINGLESS, but - lets look at the history behind this image!

Google searching that image brings us to an article entitled "Panem et Circenses" (http://2helenahandbaskets.com/?m=201207)

It reads:

The Roman leaders kept the people entertained while making sure they had bread and circuses. In other words they diverted the attention of the populace of the disastrous state of the nation while making sure the people were fed and entertained. Meanwhile the country went bankrupt and lost its identity. It was so infused with foreigners that there was no desire to fight for the people that had lost its national identity. It was everyone for themselves. And the Roman Empire was broke and spread too thin to protect itself. The people were united in greed alone.

Now I will interpret in the manner I believe Nilbog used as a literary device/metaphor for the upcoming changes to the red server!

The Red99 leaders (Nihilum) kept their zerg minions entertained while making sure they had pixels and had to spend as little time in game as possible. In other words they diverted the attention of the populace of the disastrous state of the server end game while making sure the pathetic zombies were enthralled by pixel lust and felt special to log in 3 hours a week to kill all the raid mobs in game. Meanwhile the rest of the server went and focused on the wrong issues and lost its competitive spirit. The rest of the server was so infused with stupid problems, Nihilum as a whole, and GMs that there was no desire to fight for the people that had lost its competitive spirit. It was everyone for themselves. And Red99 competition was an absolute joke and spread too thin to have meaningful PVP. The zerg zombie minions were united in greed alone.

It means CHANGE IS COMING! VARIANCE IS HERE! Nilbog is bringing an end to a ridiculous era of non-variance and quashing the additional power it brings to already powerful zergs!

Well, that part is wrong. Plenty were dumb enough. They wanted to believe, but the system always knocked them down. The rest of us waited on the sidelines knowing two truths in life: You can't out run a bad diet, and you can't out play a broken system. Non-variance is a non-starter. It's time for it to go! With variance suddenly dozekar pops while I have a raid farming halls of testing, or zland pops while we are doing a DN group, or tov mobs pop, or klandicar pops. You can't guard them all when the windows overlap for dozens of hours a day. Despite nilly rhetoric they won't have 49 people sitting in these zones during mob windows for 48 hours at a time. They will have ten to twelve die hards who will be out numbered by those actually grouping / exping etc.

Fallen, I wouldn't play on this broken server in its current state even if someone paid me (though I'm sure you're being paid, who else would devote their life for 2 years if not for RMT?). Variance will put Red99 back on my map. There is literally no reason to play otherwise, we've seen how the mechanics of non-variance work on the server. 18+ months of undeniable proof that it breaks the server. BTW! I think Derubael is still waiting for a single benefit of non-variance, it's only been 3 days have you guys thought of a single one yet?

Everyone fully understands the concept of a 12 hour variance spawn window. It is probably 9000% better than the 3 hour spawn window of Nihilums choosing every week, whereby they bring over half the current population of the server and kill 32k hp raid mobs with 60+ players, then have the audacity to ask where the competition is at.

I dont think anyone should be sitting on a known spawn timer with forces ready.....If this was live and there was 4-5 guilds rdy to fight over it fine......but really kids who only log on to raid and log out hurt this server more than anything i can think of.....Wtf is the point of hoarding pixels if you log right out after the raid to never use them??
