Petition to have raid loot drop off random mobs

Clearly Nihilum is too strong and people cannot compete. I think this is unfair and everyone should have a chance at raid loot even with inferior numbers or skill. After all the original Everquest creators intended for everyone to have raid loot.

This is the only fair way a smaller unorganized guild who has put in far less time on this server can have a fair chance.

I request that raid loot drop off random mobs. This way everyone gets raid loot.

Blue is a complete mess right now due to variance and kunark being out far too long. Really the only way to fix blue would be to release instance spawning. If a guild wants to raid Trakanon they can pay 500k plat for a new instance of seb which has Trakanon in it.

Here's the difference. I'm actually providing facts. I played on Xegony. I was in the major guild known as Inner Circle. We fought against Dark Horizon, IS, etc. You can google it and see for yourself. We lost plenty of mobs. All of this is documented and easy to see via google.

Afterlife was not on veeshan, you might be thinking about Celestial Tomb.

Velious solves a lot of issues with raids being controlled by one guild. This is one reason adding in Variance now so close to Velious would just be so stupid. Velious forces guilds on different paths. Lower tier guilds just went different factions which allowed them to get raid mobs that the top tier guild cannot kill due to faction issues.

I don't expect there to ever not be one guild taking most of the raid mobs. What would be nice is to have them somewhat spread throughout the week, and throughout different time zones.

It is proven that no variance FFA will turn into one guild taking over, and never changing due to the fact that it is so easily cock blocked.

I don't reference live, or classic proof and dig through posts of an era that has no relevance to today, I just look to blue and see the success it has in its competitive end game, and the complete lack of population, competing guilds, boring and stagnant state of red99 for my proof.

I know Elderan is personally invested in non variance farming all raid mobs in two days and then leaving an empty server - but anyone from the outside looking at this box cannot not say it has been a gigantic failure to both attract new players, and retain the players it attracts.

If the ruleset stays the same, and EQmac see how end-game plays out here (I have seen it from Nihi point of view, and any competitors point of view) they will soon join the same cycle since release. a) join Nihi, b) quit c) be a non-factor like myself and shout about how this sucks.

I don't know if a small variance would be classic or not, I seem to remember a +/- 12 or some shit, I could be wrong - but having a small variance would spread raid mobs throughout the week, and actually promote a populated norrath.

I enjoyed letting other guilds get stuff, it makes it more of a challenge. What challenge is bring 50 lvl 60s with Epics/BiS to fight 20-30 People in planar gear with a few epics? The answer is never. The state of the server is horrible. Its either join Nihilum to get gear or fight them, lose, then quit. If Nihilum would let others have any chance, the server would be a lot more fun for everyone. I'm happy I am not in Nihilum right now. Killing shit with double the numbers needed is retarded. It shows no skill, its only a zerg. I remember when we left trak up and Raze was saying, "Azrael won't be able to kill it anyway." Look what happened. Azrael killed trak with a scrub force. Most of them died but a few lived. Remember what happened after that? MASS PVP. The few weeks after that trak kill were some of the most fun times I had on the server. A lot of people in Nihilum got excited. We finally had some competition. People came back from retirement and we even had fun losing the PvP and some mobs. Letting others have attempts boosts morale for the whole server and creates a better PvP environment.

TL:DR

Leave a few mobs up so people can boost morale. Or put variance in for a month to try it. This server needs competition, not another blue guild.

P/S. Erollisi Marr had a rotation and about 6-7 guilds in it. Da'kor, Midnight Sojourn, lots of others that my brain can't think 13+ years back don't know how you guys do it lol.

PSS the amount of poop socking this guild nihilum does goes way beyond the raid content. Just the other day I had Tune and Chooch in BW hunting me..Yes 2 epic'ed decked out level 60 bards spending 30 minutes running around the zone hunting a level 55 bard minding his own business.

I have been on this server from the start with a long 2 year break but am now back. And I can tell you I never seen founding fathers, holocaust, or any other guild do such poop socking as this. all the other guilds would at least look for a full group, or equal level'ed people. but these nihilum hunt people by themselves, out number and out level them, and waste over an hour doing it.

I get I'm on a pvp server so I am not complaining about the PVP, it was actually fun knowing those 2 bards couldnt kill me, even once they had me snared. I am just saying a lot of these conversations are useless because they will stop at nothing to bully someone else.

How much of that is Ixiblat and other easy epics fights that no one cares about because they are spawned or 24 hour repops?

On live they had patches days. This prevented guilds from being able to lock down all the content because they simply couldn't be at all 15 mobs at the same time. Saying one guild could take 95% of all mobs on live is one of the most stupid things I have ever heard. I'm not saying it isn't impossible, but I'm sure over 100 servers that this was not the case on 95% of them.

I missed a number of raids last week and still killed 22 bawses. Best case scenario if we never wiped and factoring in transportation time to and from events, puts me at upwards of 20 hours. Someone who made every raid could have easily broken 25 hours played without even factoring in non-raid activities.

You forgot that they now do Lady Vox and Lord Nagafen after not doing them for so long. Red Dawn popping up has caused them to raid these mobs as well.

I don't want to get sucked into the variance forumquest wars, but what if after a full server repop (after a patch or a server crash) raid targets had 1-3 day variance, then reverted back to static spawn times? Thus raid targets would get spread out over a few days instead of all spawning within a few hours of each other, poopsocking would be minimized, and after the initial repop the spawn times would be known.

You're using ridiculous times for those. Trakanon is not 1.5 hours, I went to 50+ trakanons. Noble is not 45 minutes, it's a 15-20 minute raid. Sev is not half a hour. Innoruuk is about 40 minutes, sometimes 35 minutes. Talendor is not 30 minutes. Non CT dracoliche is a 15 minute raid, sometimes literally 10 minutes. Your numbers are as retarded as your logic. I could start posting time stamps from all my raids but you would just ignore more facts and keep spewing bullshit. P.S., in my year + in nihilum, not even ONCE did we ever do sky twice in a week. So trying to now claim the avg. is 25 hours + due to out of the ordinary raids that are not the norm is nothing other than disingenuous.

edit: also, while your argument MAY have held water for VS [despite the fact I posted for most of the logs the initial formation time] it doesn't for the subsequent raids. From VS >> Sev >> Fay >> Innoruuk, the time includes the formation/buffing/travel inherently.

learn 2 read moran. none of this has anything to do with variance. as stated by myself, 1091059015 times, I can thrive with variance, I can thrive without variance. I can contest either way, and neither way particularly benefits me more than the other. Personally, for overall server health, i.e., multiple guilds, lots of pvp battles, I believe a VERY SMALL window of 1-2 hours would be beneficial. But I'm not advocating it, I'm simply responding to other peoples threads on the subject.

Just a quick example to debunk this foolishness. Looking at log and batphone from that evening, I see we were pvping for zone control for over 2 hours prior to that Trakanon. HB wouldn't know this because he only logged on for dkp so of course he only sees Nizzars final (all caps) call for people to hurry up and get to sebilis.

You are not taking into account the forming up time and getting there. Sure there are some instances of back to back spawns taking less time but overall the time is accurate.

You are also not accounting for the time require before and after the raids. For example VP requires mallets and pots etc. This all adds time.

I know you were AFK playing wow on most of our raids and it might be hard to remember the actual time required...

Just a quick example to debunk this foolishness. Looking at log and batphone from that evening, I see we were pvping for zone control for over 2 hours prior to that Trakanon. HB wouldn't know this because he only logged on for dkp so of course he only sees Nizzars final (all caps) call for people to hurry up and get to sebilis.

That is why Nilly would and does win in the end. Regardless of any thing else it takes then the least amount of time to get anywhere and be raid/pvp ready. No new rule will change that.

Every PVP server had 1 guild controlling 95% of the raid mobs. Only reason it didn't happen on blue servers is because the biggest guild was forced to give up raid content.

Yet I tanked VP every single week, despite being "terrible." I derped a misclick of a mallet on ghost one time. Because of this single incident in over 10 months of tanking, my play was therefore "terrible." Your logic doesn't add up.

Just a quick example to debunk this foolishness. Looking at log and batphone from that evening, I see we were pvping for zone control for over 2 hours prior to that Trakanon. HB wouldn't know this because he only logged on for dkp so of course he only sees Nizzars final (all caps) call for people to hurry up and get to sebilis.

A plus for non variance is that most nights of the week you can actually find even number pvp. unfortunately its not that meaningful since no pixels are at stake. cant really have meaningful pvp with non-variance since such tremendous zerging obviously happens when things are at a set time.

Clearly Nihilum is too strong and people cannot compete. I think this is unfair and everyone should have a chance at raid loot even with inferior numbers or skill. After all the original Everquest creators intended for everyone to have raid loot.
