have you ever been walking in the streets of Rivervale and saw a horde of bodies everywhere? if it was more detailed and there was blooded everywhere on the walls and crap, I would be kinda scared, plus that nice music seems like a bunny murderer came and killed all those people, the way the guards just kill you and leave your body there disturbs me... and if you in a place like neriak... its dark and gloomy and the music can scare you sometimes. imagine that!.....okay GO!

Try Kithicor Forest after dark, when it's gloomy and all the evil mcnasty undead comes out to play! Not a safe place for lowbies or even mid-levels after sunset.

I remember back in the live days, a guild member friend had come through there and shortly thereafter, we met up. It was then that he mentioned that as he was going through Kithicor, dark fell and he was chased by what he thought was a "monkey" to the WC zone.

I laughed and told him it was probably a werewolf, but I don't see one listed for the zone on the p99 Wiki. Seems to me that the zone used to have one...

Classic (real classic) EQ was a terrifying game. Small window of view, forced first person gaming, almost-forced low-light gaming (CRTs were also darker back in the day), mobs aggroing from anywhere, and a general "unknown" when entering a new place.

Here there isn't as much fear, since getting a CR done and a rez doesn't suck horribly. I'm not really "scared" anymore. But back in the early 00's? Oh boy, the game was really creepy.

Plus as you said, the mass genocide of all living creatures.

Which is why EQ is "10/10, would play again"

Nothing got your blood going better at 14 than the sound of your pixelated avatar crunching from a couple of 30%+ hits.

Shit was insane at 3am on a school night.

And this is why I'm afraid of rope swings.

EQ is my favorite survival horror game, after Silent Hill 2.

Hill Giant stomps man. So nostalgia.

I still don't get why people play with the sound off.

I was just thinking of this the other day, as I was running around in EC and thinking, how normal would it be to be seeing corpses of people here and there? Its actually creepy.

And then port up to the 1st island in PoSky. Oh, the humanity!
