While reviewing some old scripts.. I noticed this one was in rough shape.
It appears the ph/ac is in a very predictable location all the time. Shouldn't it be random in the desert?

yes it should be random and was random on live. this was the reason i only camped it in OOT on live
Also should not be spawning during the day, if it still is.

The S Ro spawn was very very rarely camped because of the randomness and also the strict spawn time.
It appears the ph/ac is in a very predictable location all the time.
It is currently a 30-minute afk, kill PH, go afk camp.

it was random on live and due to this there were so many theories about how to pop it
Usually the safest bet was to just kill everything in the desert which is what people usually did if they were trying to kill him

Wanted to chime in. I to have memories of it being random location spawn on live and also same thing on eqmac.
Another thing I remember (don't have info on this) the dark elf merchant would kill Sand Giants and AC if it spawned. I remember seeing this many times on live with sand giants they would whale on the merchant if they got near them and merchants would pulverize them.

Fixed the following, pending update.
-correct %s,
-only spawns during night,
-created a new system for random loc script spawns/applied to ac/phs
What should the exact day/night hours be for sro?
What should the exact respawn be for ac/ph? (seconds)
That should finish it up.

Spawn Time 30.5 minutes aka 1830 seconds

Will this script change also remove the ubiquitous use of a certain /tar macro to select the AC's placeholder?
if it doesnt the way to camp ac would just be run around the desert using it till you find ph, then waiting 30 mins and looking for it again which would defeat the purpose
I assume the devs know the /tar command? not sure if it should be repeated here so if not shoot me a pm

^ oh yea you can differentiate between placeholder and regular NPC that have same names.... def should be posted here, since ya'll use it and everyone has jboots.. works with quillmane PH too.
get em now folks. good to see it fixed though, was trivial.

I would think eqdb naming knowledge is not an exploit since it still has to be close to target. Also it would stink to find placeholders for mobs without some sort of flag....if editing.

is "/target #" still going to work to target the PH?
because that was definitely classic.

You sure on this? What timeframe in live?
Also this doesn't currently work but in a few zones.. everything Kunark and onward that we have recreated have the #'s removed.

Would prefer to remove the #s. Protects against hax which might be made to target beyond the clip plane searching for them.

30.666 it is.
As long as it allows for 2 night spawns, assuming timing and luck.
Albeit less time than 30.5, but its still possible.
Back to back spawns will be extremely rare now.
Earlier in the year I was aware of 4 rings in 5 hours, back to back twice, with 2 hours inbetween.
Another time it was 4 rings in 6 hours.
