Any other Doctor Who nerds here? The 50th anniversary special was amazing. They couldn't have done it any better.

I just finished watching it. I think it's just far too terrible that matt smith is the doctor right now, had far too much of him in this special. Really missing Tennant, Hopefully they end up replacing matt smith at some point soon, along with getting Russel Davies back so they can start playing more with galifrey story lines. Makes me want to re-watch the old series again, want more valeyard!

Edit: Just read that matt smith is being replaced. This is excellent news! Never was able to watch the matt smith dr who, so more or less didn't pay attention during his seasons...

They did a big live reveal of the new doctor. If you saw in the special, the first photo I posted was his only appearance. It was minimalist, but it shouldn't have been anything more.

Matt Smith was really good imo, bummer that you didn't like him. Peter Capaldi is going to make a really great Doctor.

I am jelly. I did not get to see it. Glad to see Tennant in those pics though. Was easily my favorite Dr.
Not sure how I feel about Capaldi though...

The same was said about Matt Smith when he first got the role... I'd say he wasn't a good choice even now, but Capaldi will deliver :D

Yeah regrettably I did not know that the special was going on the 23rd so I wasn't able to see the pre-show. Matt smith would of been better if there were better story lines for him imo, they just made the doctor a bit too childish for me, and the guys face bothered me a bit. Yeah, can't wait for peter they're going to have to go with some galifrey scripts with him, the guy just screams timelord. I remember one of their choices after Tennant was Robert Carlyle and he would of made a pretty good doctor. I'm hoping that they bring back captain beefcake sometime in the next season.

Are you speaking of Captain Jack? If Torchwood is still going (not sure), then I doubt it

yea, talkin about jack. Nah torchwood ended years ago. It only went on for like two seasons iirc. I meant that it would be great if he were to do some appearances on doctor who again. Unsure if it would be the same without tennant, but I'm sure it would be pretty damn good.

Captain Jack was great! He was one of my favorite characters. I agree it would be great if he came back.
