Incentivize the EQmac community to come to P99 Rogean

I know a transfer over here with max level and good gear will not be an option and would just piss off your loyal player base, but a small incentive will go a long ways in the coming days when my community at EQmac is looking for a new MMO home.

Having 200 more players on this server would be awesome would it not?

Edit: Thanks Rogean for the added 50% exp bonus, hopefully it stays around for a couple weeks after EQmac closes for those slow to migrate over here.

Typical response but the majority of the server has worked on their toons for 5-10 years and they still play every day. The grind to 60 will be the only deterrent to galvanizing the eqmac community to come play here.

I have some ideas on how you could persuade the community to come here that wouldnt piss off the P99 community but ill wait till rogean says he will consider such a thing.

Having an awesome classic server to go to after Sony just shut yours down seems like a pretty good consolation.

This would be nice to see if there will be an influx of new players. Though there's a pretty even spread throughout each decade of levels, 1-9, 10-19, etc; the server is very top heavy. In the usual lowbie spots you're lucky to get a group going. I don't know why everyone wants to solo everything and then start grouping 40 levels later.

I have decided to enable a 50% EXP Bonus on both servers as a welcome to any new players. This bonus will last until later this week, at which point it will bump down to a 20% Bonus, and then back up to 50% again when the EQMac server officially closes on November 18th.

EQMac welcomed a bunch of p99'ers then stabbed them in the back by exploiting to prevent their progression due to sheer jealousy that they were far more skilled than Temerity/Destiny combined...

They couldn't handle the fact that the p99'ers were about to progress beyond both their top guilds in less than 6 months for what took them YEARS to accomplish.

My point was if you have spent the last couple of years playing in planes of power struggling to progress through the elemental planes and what not, are you really going to feel at home on a Kunark content locked server with archaic "classic" features like hybrid exp penalty, bad loot retained in its poorly designed state because "it's classic," etc.? Probably not. There's a huge gap now in the eq emu "market" for an authentic progression type or planes of power server that has the hack free and boxing free policy that is enforced, that p99 does.

The first play through can be exciting again here, but the journey is just too short for most people, especially without AA's which can provide several years worth of meaningful progression. And ultimately the end game progression, at least on blue, is awful by all accounts. Shrug.

Also, I've never spoken to someone who has played on eq Mac before? Not sure where you got that from but I have spoken to quite a few people from eq Mac. Some play here, some don't because they don't like the classic concept, some don't like the management here, some just have never tried it

I don't think you understand how much of another undertaking it would be to put together an additional server on the P1999 ruleset with Luclin and Planes of Power completed.
