Let's Make Some Official Vendors For Research Components!

Hey guys! I've been thinking about how difficult it is to find research components and there doesn't seem to be a good place to look to find out if what you're fighting will ever drop what you need.

My thought is designating a handful of lesser-used merchants that we will agree to sell words, runes, pages to. I.e. Selling just pages to a bartender in halas. I see merchants all the time that don't have a single player item in their inventory.

I've been struggling with this but then i thought hey we've got the community right here why don't we just work together! I realize this wouldn't cover everything, but it would be good to have a place to check when you really need a page. You could be sure to take some pages with you to sell while you're there! Lemme know what you think.

Doesn't sound like a great idea. You can only see so many items in a merchant's inventory, so once they started filling up, you'd miss the other pages they were also holding. Also, they'd be reset every time the server went down. Would be a lot more reliable to just have some mule in the EC tunnel - maybe have a "take a page, leave a page" policy (granted, more work).

Be easier to create some google docs spreadsheets so people can post what they have (and are willing to part with) and keep it up to date. if there was a merchant in the tunnel we could use that wouldn't get filled up with other crap that would be one thing, but people are going to run to hallas or even Misty Thicket. I support the Mule option as well.

I used to just check vendors on my wizard and buy all the good runes up they had and banked them. Certain vendors always seemed more popular for selling components too and I would regularly hit them.

One thing I sometimes do is buy all the cheap stuff off one of those full vendors so new inventory pops up for sale (maybe the word you're looking for). Rarely works but when it does its like winning the lotto!
