Wand of Darkness

I have never seen one of these drop nor heard of one ever dropping. It is supposed to drop from 'A Nightmare' in Plane of Fear.

There is nothing interesting in these links other than listing item stats. The allakhazam entry has no mention of it being a new item, but there's no comments prior to 2009 either.

April 13, 2001 (Post-Velious/plane revamp) Zam snapshot, earliest snapshot of "a nightmare" entry, the known loot lists Greenmist crap. However, there is at least one, maybe two, comments pre-Velious and indicate necro wand as rare drop:

lesser nightmares are in LS outside of najena (rare spawn) and drop nightmare hide but not necro wand.

Drops common:a nightmare hide, 5 charges oif cure blindness. Rare:necro only Wand of Darkness, 4 charges of cascading darkness.

Well every other class gets some sort of wand in the planes; why would necros be any different?
