As much as I don't like waiting, that's probably smart. Get teams99 ready and launch it the same day as Velious! Otherwise there are probably hundreds of bored players who will gladly mess around on it now, but then immediately leave when Velious is opened on blue. Lets force the people who actually want to be on teams99 make that choice, and we'll get a more accurate representation of our 'real' population.

One big issue with releasing teams after velious on red99 would be that the amount of gear gap that will be from the people coming from merger (to red from teams) will be insane.

While Teams99 fight for dwarven ringmails in crushbone red99 is farming temple of veeshan.

Once teams99 gets merged into red99 it's probably only reached kunark, that means red99 players will be waiting for these poor fucks who just got their hands on a fungi tunic.

Not a good idea, if that's the case, just keep red99 seperate from teams99, never merge them.

Well, for one thing...you are assuming teams is getting merged into Red. During the interview, they actually suggested the least popular server might get merged into the more popular. The jury is out until it's all live, but the current Red population isn't making a strong case of being the victor in that popularity contest. So either way, I can see issues with the merger regardless of the timeline.

What they should do is just delay the merger. Let teams play out post-Velious, being the first p99 server to follow the timeline accurately. Then 6 months after Velious launches on teams, merge the servers.

Although I do agree with your final comment, I'd almost rather see them just kept separate.

Wow launching teams after velious will cause more damage to red99 than launching blue epics and starwars time after red99 did.

Whats going on in HQ? Whos running this show?

There never seems to be a clever grand scheme that makes any sense. It is apparent that nothing has been learned from the failures of the previous emu pvp servers. The Teams99 'bomb' drop in the Q&A two months ago did as much damage to the server as Puma's "there might be a wipe" 4 years ago.

There are 70-110 people who constantly rotate in and out of this server and will likely not be deterred regardless of the timeline, expansion, resist code, etc (myself one). Rarely we have influxes of 'new' players that come from other servers or retirement or hypothetically other games/gaming communities.

Without fail we fail to grasp this opportunity at original players and the onus of this failure is largely out of the playerbase's hands. The community here is rude, vulgar, nasty, mean spirited and a fairly rotten crew. This is not anathema to new players as a whole, a lot of people find it entertaining (myself one). We need to stop hemorrhaging new players like the Dentists return, Force exodus, Heresy hiccup by having a more consistent and intelligent future plan for the server.

The original strength of Project 1999 was the solid development/coding and administration/leadership. It would be nice to see more forethought and maybe at this point more transparency with what the future plans really do look like. Ultimately a 100 player box has very little interest to most of the community i believe and although everyone has different playstyles and goals and tactics i think everyone would prefer there be a healthier volume of players on the server, regardless of side.

1 & 2) couple quick things, LOTS of R99 changes are simply waiting on a patch and these are fixes that will obviously be applied to the new teams server as well. when you hear me say no progress on teams server has been done, i'm speaking more like how many teams and what they will be (ie in game things), and not so much along the lines of dev or content, as those guys are always working their tails off, and as i've said a jillion times i am honestly not involved in the dev or content for the server!

3 & 4) as far as a release date, we dont have one. but not logging on redpp because you think youre going to wake up tomorrow and see TeamsPVP server is flat out silly.

5) not completely true. its because the issues most petitioned on red are issues that require evidence and none of u run fraps.
