Mainly just the two teams part. The three teams is going to be a bad idea with evil side being overpowered.

neutral and good versus evil, let's do it! Also opposite teams can not interact with the other team. No chats, heals, buffs, etc. Make it to where once you choose a side that IP address can't choose the other side! (I know that is probably impossible)
No level restrictions on PvP to prevent issues with out of combat healing. Huge XP bonus for groups, reward the groupers! No XP on death and 1 item can be looted from inventory or bags. I am ready for a fresh new start! Can't wait.

The idea of 3 teams is for the 2 weaker teams to gang up on the stronger team. In your example it would be the same as a 2 team server. The good part is that the neutral/good teams can still have fun pvp when not teaming up. The other idea that was introduced was the evil side being FFA, meaning they can even attack themselves. This would be the only thing that would actually even out the evil team in my opinion, the 2 v 1 won't cut it.
I really don't like the idea of no chats but hardcoded teams with no heals/buffs for sure. Restricting chat won't gain any traction on an everquest server. That is something most people hate about games like WoW.
If you are worried about scouts telling people where others are on their team it would happen through teamspeak/vent anyways.

3 teams with evil being FFA would probably work, I see your points. I am looking forward to what ever they do, especially if they fix the pvp issues that are presently on the current server first and foremost.

Ogres, freeport humans, dark elves vs. the rest..
Yes i left trolls on good team because Ogre warriors too OP.. if you want trolls to be evil.. should give dwarf warriors same stats as ogre then..
On small server anything different will just overload evil team and be dumb and dead within a month.

I really don't want to be a monk/sk/necro but the more people talk about teams the more I realize training is going to be a big part of the server. Being something like a warrior on classic with trains is going to be brutal.

Talllon Zek was 4 teams but turned into 2 unofficially. I propose they block get rid of common tongue and block trading/buffing with opposing teams so it works as intended.

That reminds me of a mode in the original Team Fortress for Half Life. There was a mode where you had to protect the president from asassins. The protecting team had 1 president and had to get him to a helicopter. His defenders could be soldiers or heavies I believe, and the asassins I think could only be snipers. Was a blast lol.

Racial teams always bad in a pve game like EQ. Unless you allow all races to choose their racial ability and have ogre/troll like stats, its just going to result in serious balance issues. Only way around this is to just give out free loot to everyone and create the server solely for pvp. Then maybe it would work... but that would be dumb.

should just give everyuone level 51 and 255 stats at the start.
just disable the ogre race IMO. Its overrated, leave the city in game for npcs and quests, but disable them at char creation.
re-enable bandolier and the slam thing is even less of an issue. believe it or not retards can joust/bash on a dwarf or gnome or any other race. yet most people playing MT ogres are below retard level.

Yes because Ogres and Trolls starting stats totally prevented evils from getting steamrolled by lighties on Vallon Zek. :rolleyes:
The only imbalance in teams is starting zones and population size. Obviously releasing Sullon Zek and giving the evil team all of Kunark plus most of Antonica was a really bad idea in retrospect.
