I would recommend doing a google search to see the stats of a particular item. (such as Flowing Black Silk Sash) Allakazams still has lots of information, and much of it is relevant. (though some things have certainly changed since 1999)

not understanding acronyms can be difficult, but if you know the full or partial name of an item, look it up on http://everquest.allakhazam.com/

just be wary that the website reflects items on live, so wacky requirements or effects are probably not on p99, while some may not exist at all anymore!

Look in the forums for the items you want, write them down and then you know what you are looking for. there is a gear thread some where here. Want know the stats type it in google or zam ( i mostly type "item name zam" in google that works well)

Part of his problem Damaja is that he didn't know what the acronyms meant. So telling him to google flowing black silk sash is kinda pointless since he didn't know that is what fbss meant. With the acronym thread hopefully that will change.
