Beastlords on p99

Probably one of the most intriguing classes in everquest. Combining the greatness of playing a pet class, a shaman, and a monk, the holy trinity of fun.

Cats on the moon would almost be tolerable without this abomination of an unneeded character class. Wait, no, I'm lying. Beastlord class takes cats on the moon from bad to worse, but either's sufficiently bad to merit eternal suppression.

There's no reason you cant have cat people, beastlords, and berskers in Classic even 1-50 classic. Start em in Kerra Ridge, or their home towns, and its totally do-able. Just got to move a few trainers around and disable some skills/tomes to higher levels.

Give zerkers basic axes and head crush and disiplence at 50-60

Give BLs a slight hybrid nerf.

None of this. I keep hearing about possible "custom content" after velious and I hope we never see any of it.

Either release the expansions in full, in proper order, or don't, but making up content for after velious is beyond non-classic.

This is the only valid reason to vote yes. It's a strong reason, but in my case simply not enough to overcome my innate revulsion towards beastlords (and cats on the moon.)

I voted yes because a Beastlord was my first (and only non-poweleveled) level 60 on live, it'd feel like a betrayal otherwise.

Side note: Beastlords were kinda shitty, at least when I played - less dps than any other dps class, ranger-esque heals and buffs and a "persistent" pet that was like 30 levels below you until you buffed it. The only reason people liked me was because I was the first guy in my guild (maybe the first guy on SZ evil team?) with SP and SS.

Not that I think it will or should actually happen.

original beastlords weren't rlly very useful. the paragon line was about their only unique ability that raids could make use of.

its a fun class...personally, though, i'd rather box a monk/shaman duo than play a beastlord.

*edit* if I had to choose one thing that wasn't classic to add here it'd be getting rid of ranger penalty before I'd even consider beastlords :) makes things more difficult and I seem to find rangers every time I group, not saying thats a bad thing but any lvl trying to xp with a ranger in your group you may as well just keep soloing til *edit* forever

Would rather see berserkers than beastlords in some kinda custom content. Never really saw the point of beastlords in the long run. They kept having to find things for them to do as a pure dps they were not great and as a debuffer they were not great and as a buffer they were not great apart from that regen/mana regen buff. Berserker makes good use of 2h weapons and gives an alternative spin on the warrior and a more aggressive means of pure melee than rogue and monk!

Beasties was my favorite class ever, and I loved Luclin. I never use the character models, even long after PoP, but I loved beastlords and AAs. I hope someday we see Luclin.
