Would you play on a new Red 99?

If it were team based, no item loot, no leaderboard, accelerated xp rate much like VZTZ, limited to classic for a month or two (with classic drops), and at the end of a few month duration was merged with the original Red 99 Server? The idea is to basically clone Red 99 to suit the needs of the pvp community. This idea would also cater to the blue community on Red and also those who are heavily invested in Red as there would be no wipe. Instead, the new server would be a fast track route to catch up.



Pros of Red 99 Next:

1) New players will want a fresh start on EVEN playing grounds. Who wants to start on a server when people are already decked out in epics and VP gear?

2) Players who didn't make it to lvl 60 or are still agonizing about reds xp rate will start on Next for the quick xp.

3) Players who missed out on classic loot will come to Next to get the goods.

4) Amazing fresh pvp, who doesn't love it?

5) And best of all? The hype when the servers actually merge and the Nihilum bluebies who stayed on Red to farm while the rest of the pop was on Next will get crushed when they face players with even gear.

We're basically creating a Legends server here fellas, which, lets face it: with our daily lives of work, family, school, etc, we all rather have a more casual server.

If worst comes to worst, Next would merge with red after a few months and even if people end up quitting the pop would still add quite a few to its ranks.

ALSO: Making this server happen could be done/coded/copied databases within probably 24 hours.

Nilbog did before, he said custom content will never happen on these servers but perhaps on a new one. It was a startling reversal from the prior stance of potential custom content.

If post-Velious custom content is created, it will be on an additional server. Nothing would be done to this one, and a new one would be opened. Your characters and experience here (p99 pve) will remain as classic as possible.

Interestingly, it would be far easier to create new content than it has been to recreate specifics through research. I mean, by a lot.. I would like to eventually try my hand at creating new classic-inspired content. There are a lot of problems which could have been handled differently throughout time. Raid targets, pvp, and economic inflation to name a few.

Heartbrand you ever consider applying to staff? As a player you bring nothing to the table but you sweat and bleed the true colors of this server, it's possible you could be useful and assist these? some of the most fun content on emu was the null custom raid stuff. was hard to figure out, exacerbated by the facts that you had to 2box to have enough people to complete it and there were 2 other guilds rushing in to pk you while you figured out triggers and shit.

I'd mostly only be interested in playing EQ PvP if it had a strong roleplaying/team aspect to it....Good vs Neutral vs Evil, with Race Restrictions as well. I'll post a new thread about my idea later.

The game would also really need some fundamental changes to combat mechanics and clicky items for me to have a lasting interest.
