Observed a NPC being engaged on his spawn point gating more than five times and regenerating his health each time.

Is this the intended mechanic implemented from this patch? My recollection of this mechanic was that when you cleared to a npc and fought the npc on their bind point, they would not attempt to cast gate.

gonna go with a +1 on getsome's recollection here.

NPC's gated from maybe 80 units away from their spawn if I had to make an educated guess. And only from a certain level too? 40's or 50's?

Yea i remember the strategy back in the day was to kill gating mobs on their spawn to avoid this, no proof though. The drug use since the early 2000s may have damaged these memories and made new ones so we cant really go by this.

That's the way it's written. If not working in that way, then definitely bugged.

What npc/zone specifically?

I linked that Emperor Chottal would gate if pulled all the way back to the first door in his crypt from live sources. If they fight on spawn they should not gate. The only NPC I know with special behavior is Esorpa of the Ring in WW and she gates at like 40ish.

It's set to 200 distance iirc. If that's not working, it's bugged like I said.

I have had this happen on Tolapumj as well.
Seperate instance from Getsome.

Z axis might not count? You fought him right on top of where he spawns?

Pulled him to poop mountain. He gated, summoned tank. We went down and attacked him again. Except for our inadaquete push, he was not moved from his spawn when he chain gated.

Perhaps the bug is -- If the NPC gates once (away from spawn point) they are allowed multiple other gates no matter the distance (on the spawn point)?

Kinda what it sounds like, fight him on spawn I guess and see if he tries to gate.
