Newbie on red, pros/cons of Druid?

Hey guys,

With the mad experience bonus, I've decided to give Red a shot.

Just curious, not knowing the intricacies of PvP, how does a Druid typically stand up? I figured I'd go Druid for the ability to quickly get back to my corpse after I get owned. Secondly, I like the idea of having SoW for when I'm a coward, and snare/root to even things up. Not to mention I'll have the ability to blast people down or dot them up.

I'm mainly wondering how the Druid's abilities actually stack up in PvP? Roots/snares actually hit? SoW enough to escape a 4 person gangbang on my lonely halfling ass, etc.?

Con: terrible on raids / in groups, falls off hard

Viable PvP class / PVE not so much, unless you roll with pals. I personally love the travel flexibility.

Thanks for the info guys, think I'll stick w/ Druid for now.

Plus, it's a good class to help friends out if I can convince them to play on Red.

biggest con to druid is 70% of the server is already playing one

hard to get into raid guilds

Druid is an amazing pvp class, but being dependent on mana kind of bums me out sometimes. Teleports are so valuable here, good heals, good nukes. Dots are mana expensive, but useful sometimes. Soon nilbog is going to nerf snare and root to make them useless against people with any mr gear, and our track is currently nerfed into uselessness; but we're still going to be very powerful in pvp.

Druids are also great for outdoors pve because of harmony and sow, and indoors people will be pretty happy just to group with anyone.
