Just wondering if anyone still prefers XP over Win 7. I still use both depending on what I am playing/running. I still prefere XP but thinking about finally converting over to 7 fully. Basically, I am about to reformat and trying to decide whether to continue dual booting 2 windows OSes as well as Mint or just one windows and one nix distro. windows 8 users need not apply, i fucking hate it.
just curious, to you guys predict any problems with running future games such as EQN on win XP or should we still be good to go.

I'll throw Xp on machines that i get that are under 1.5gb ram. Still a solid os and does everything that i or any normal everyday person needs from a os.

Windows XP will no longer be supported by Microsoft after April next year. So most likely many other companies will stop creating new drivers for xp and most software companies will not support their software on XP. Therefore if your computer is capable of running 7, you definitely should. I don't see any reason not to use 7 unless its just an old system with less than 2 gigs of RAM.

I need to start playing with mint.
I guess I'm a RAM snob, I dont like installing 7 unless there's at least 4 gigs of memory present. But XP is still a very viable OS up to then.

I've never run anything newer than XP but then again my PC has 2gigs of RAM and I don't use it for anything but writing, internets, occasional Classic EQ, text-based baseball sims and old-ass games like Master of Orion. I also keep it looking like Windows '95 in this bitch. I hate the way my wife's OS looks and I assume she's got whatever the newest Windows is because we just bought her PC a few months ago.

I like 7, but I run linux/xp. No need to run windows 7 until I get a computer that's much better than the dual cores I have. But no video game has warranted a better computer where I need more ram/cpu/gpu speeds.
