Hi all, I simply wanted to create a master thread where I could collect and aggregate all of the various polls into one place, as well as update/outline their handling. I plan on doing a total of about 10 seperate polls to gather the neccessary data, and then with the help of individuals that have already reached out to me, post some graphical information regarding the p99 demographic.

I will update this thread as new polls are added.
Data will be collected and analyzed on August 9th.

Data was collected from all of the various polls at 2:15pm 08/09/2013. I've created some pie charts and provided a small amount of analysis for each individual poll. Feel free to add your own! Some results were surprising, others not so much. I know there has been information gathered from the p99 database before pertaining to character information, and it would be great to contrast, and compare that with the poll results if anyone is interested in doing so.

Now, on to the results. The "prototypical" P99 player would have the following characteristics:
Male aged 19-35
Married
White/Caucasian
Earned a bachelors degree
Is employed for wages
Makes between $36,000-$85,000 per year
Began playing EverQuest when they were between 12 and 18 years old
Plays casually between 0 and 15 hours per week
Is between level 56 and 60
Is a shaman

That said, a lot of those characteristics were not ahead of the pack by much. Here are the actual results:

15 hours is not casual my friend...

i play like 4 hours a week right now if i'm lucky, i think 0-5 is casual.

He has 0-15 Casual and 0-15 Hardcore. I think the hour-spans should be 0-10, 10-20, 20-40, 40+, but that's just me. 0-15 hardcore could be, "I can't play often, but I can log on for 30 minutes to kill a dragon," and 0-15 casual could be, "I don't have long to play, so I'll just hop over to crushbone and buff the newbies." I like the hardcore/casual breakdown for the same hour-spans.

The age brackets are a little large, imo. 19-35 encompasses a wide range, a few high school, a lot of college, some young professions, and people with over a decade of career experience.

I would have probably done 0-14, 15-17, 18-25, 26-35, 36-45, 46-55, 56+.

Suggestion for next thread: Highest level of education!

We could sit and debate best methodologies on the various poll responses all day, however I chose the ones I did for a reason.

0-15 hardcore could be, "I can't play often, but I can log on for 30 minutes to kill a dragon," and 0-15 casual could be, "I don't have long to play, so I'll just hop over to crushbone and buff the newbies." I like the hardcore/casual breakdown for the same hour-spans.

That is exactly how they were intended to be viewed so I hope there isn't any confusion! :)

Updated with 2 new polls! Half way there. :)

Continue posting ideas for new polls, I have a couple standard ones left I would like to do, it would be nice to get some results on a couple of them the community is interested in seeing as well.

Bump, updated with 2 new polls! Only a couple more polls to go and a few days before all of the data gets collected, aggregated, and crunched! :D

Edit: Also wanted to add that I would like to do at least 2 polls with YOUR questions. So what do YOU want to know about the people behind the characters on this server? Post your thoughts and I'll take a couple of the most popular ones and include them in the analysis!

Your age demographics should be more detailed. 20-24 and so on. Look into what standard Census age demo is. 19 to 35 is way to broad. None the less good idea. on the poll. I find it rather interesting.

You should do a poll asking how many people have hooked up irl with someone they met in EQ.

Perhaps a poll of location: US, Europe, Canada, Aussie/Asia, etc.?
