Project99 Demographics - Poll #3

Have you ever wondered who the person behind that other character actually is? Ever wondered what kind of people frequent these forums/play on the server? Me too, so let's find out!

This is part 3 in a series of posts to help determine just what the P99 demographics look like. I think we may end up slightly surprised. I will attempt to do a couple of these at a time, so as not to spam up the forum (mods let me know if you want this in Off-topic or somewhere else).

Based on the behavior of some of the forum dwellers, it might be an accurate representation.

Ever read a newspaper? The world is full of people, and the overwhelming majority of them would fit right into RnF. (Well, maybe only a simple majority of the entire population, but pretty much every person on the planet who self-identifies as "politically active" qualifies, whether they're a german social democrat, a texas tea-partier, a california democrat, a british laborite, a somali jihadi, a chinese communist, or what have you.)

I was 39 when EQ first came out. It was what my gaming group had been waiting on; we were long time ADD players who were in various stages of having kids and just couldnt get together very much. We cut our CRPG teeth on the Ultima's, Wizardry's, the Gold Box games etc and always hoped that one day, we'd be able to play them together!

EQ came along and we were in heaven! Course we never knew a thing about EQ and our group was a Thief, Ranger, Pally, Wizard and Monk... I just laugh about it now! No CC, no heals and no tanking but we all had a blast!

At that time, it was unheard of to actually pay a monthly fee for a computer game. 6 months in, I had 3 accounts; 1 for me and 1 for each of my kids. My oldest was 12 and my youngest was 10... we had a blast and to this day, we still play games together.

Fast forward to today and I'm setting up 2 accounts on P1999 so my wife (remarried now) and I can EQ together. My kids are both playing on a classic DAoC server!
