I just had to reformat my hard drive witha fresh windows install and I also added a secondary 500g drive. Before I reformatted I took my eq file and dumped it to a flash drive.

Can I simply move that file into the program files of my hard drive and start playing? I guess not that I've looked there isn't an EQ desktop icon or anything in the folder that i can use to run the program.

This should be a simple issue and I'd appreciate someone's help on it in order to dodge a fresh install. Thank you very much!

Just copy your EQ directory to what ever place or drive you want to store it.
Then find eqgame.exe,
right click "send to desktop (shortcut)",
right click the shortcut,
click properties
add "patchme" so the target line looks like (make sure it points at your directory):

G:\EverQuest\eqgame.exe patchme

As an aside, you can actually do the same thing and keep a copy of EQ on your flash drive so you can take it with you, just put the short cut in the root directory of the flash drive.

That was exactly the type of info I was looking for. Simple enough and my EQ is now up and running.

Seriously thank you so much for taking the time to help me out, I appreciate it very much!
