View Full Version : Stagger the Spawns

With the down time and all the ideas and complaining, thought I'd suggest this and see if anyone actually thinks it's a good idea.
Stagger the raid mobs. Instead of "variance", when the server pops, have only 2-3 (random) raid mobs up. Then, over the next 3-4 days, have the rest of them spawn, at random. After they are killed, they go on to their normal 7 day (or whatever) timer. This means instead of the top guild logging in for 4 hours once a week and slaying every mob, the mobs would be up throughout the week, promoting pvp and giving other guilds a chance at them, without subjecting the server to the "VARIANCE POOPSOCK".
*ALTERNATE* - if a raid mob is usually 7 days, make it 7.5, 7.8, 7.2, etc. days, a different number for each mob. This means that next time it spawns, it will not be at the same time as it once was... Although the spawn time is known, it is not exactly at the same time of day, and eventually the mobs will spread out over time to be on different days.

Staggard spawns will maybe... just maybe promote a euro/late night crowd vs straight up poopsockery.
Thinking 8pm EST spawn and 5am EST spawn so the U.S. neckbeards will go to bed most of the time.

While its a good idea, i'd like to beat nihi at there own game. don't really want it to be altered to make it easy to contest them.

rather have many times of pvp than just 1 time a week vs zerg.
many times a week vs zerg sounds better

i want to force them entirely off the server and back to blue, i don't want them here at all. the lot of them, they wouldn't contest us if it was anything other then static spawns. They couldn't handle the pvp.
They would leave without us being able to claim victory your way. I dont want it like that.

A lot of you underestimate the numbers its going to take to kill a major named in velious.. You are all bitching about 30 right now, expect around 60 come velious. And even at 60 or so players its not a zerg its a necessity if any one guild intends on killing anything of significance.
Aside from a few vp pieces and epics, kunark gear in a nutshell is pretty bad. Its more than possible to compete against a VP geared guild with drops available to the more casual of players. It just takes some organization and skill.
Nihilum isnt doing anything that I myself or anyone else wouldnt do. If the shoe was on the other foot are you all saying you would just allow the potential competition to have raid mobs? Or that you would split your guild in two for the betterment of the server? If you answered yes to those questions then you are delusional.
If people really want to compete against nihilum like they say they do then they will stop throwing temper tantrums and rage logging over not getting a raid boss. Instead they should learn from the mistake made and work on strengthening numbers and getting more efficient at mobilizing for a raid so they can try again next week. As it stands right now you cant even attempt to compete because with one loss half of you whine and rage quit.
Agatha and Terp going to unite the clans - get these fucking blues off the box, this shit ain't right.

You can't beat a nuclear bomb with a hand gun Agatha.
Nihi just has overwhelming numbers.
I've seen them with 30+ on in the middle of a weekday.
On a server that peaks at about 120, one guild being able to muster near 50 can't be beat if every mob spawns on their schedule. There's just not enough others in range, skill, geared well enough to compete.
Some sort of variance is needed at least. I think staggering respawn would be best.

hopefully we can pull it off, it's taking a bit longer to get people to see what kinda commitment it takes and to understand what that pertains but i have hope everyone will come along eventually. Just gonna take some time realizing that taking the current approach isnt going to work.
The tools are there just have to implement them.

im fairly certain i can take them with uneven odds, without going into to much detail all im going to say is "they really suck". haha. There are a few key things missing on our side that we are working on and we will be ready to rock.

The problem is there are only 4 out of 168 hours per week that there is potential action on the server. Whether zergs be zergin or not.
Slay them all at once - or slay them over the course of a week. Which sounds more engaging? Whether you counter-zerg or no, the server will be way more alive if the mobs aren't all up for only 1 afternoon per week.
Not sure what is driving you guys here. Can you give reasons that static is better for the server? No one has given any reasoning, just "u mad" (from nihilum) and "i want to win it THE HARD WAY - JUST LIKE I DON'T REPORT HACKERS TO THE GMs (agatha re: nizzar)"

but it's not even the hard way. just the "not as much fun" way..

would rather them be staggered tbh only because it's insanely fucking boring to beat their raid at VS and have 5 more raid mobs uncontested for the rest of the day

Sure, because variance is non-classic and an awful mechanic that requires poopsocking @ spawns 24/7. It is about as not fun as you can get and it burns people out. The rationale is retarded for it, "hi we don't have enough people or coordination to contest so we would like to institute variance or staggered spawns which require immense numbers and coordination so that we can contest" lol?

exactly why you're guild would fall apart over night with variance, you guys are burnt out as is. dont answer batphone for random zone control pvp. through the week you guys are a ghost town. variance would decimate nihi in a matter of weeks.
Don't want to see it happen.
Edit: basically you guys having to log in more then once a week, the older members, would break nihilums back. The only reason you guys log in once a week is not to get shit listed out of loots in velious. I'f we made it an issue through variance or pushing timers and servers didn't reset you guys would be up shits creek.

There's raids almost every day in Nihilum not sure where you get this once a week thing from. VP thursdays, skys tuesdays, trak every 3 days, sunday repop day. Just because you keep repeating a lie doesn't make it true

You are on drugs.
This is a game and not a life for most, so there's a limit to what the underdogs can commit.

you guys trak with half your guild, you guys sky with half your guild, the only time you guys are rolling full is sunday repops. If that became an issue for you guys, the extra 25 people that log in only for sunday repop would stop logging in all together. These people are not here to contest or pvp, they are here because blue has to long of a line.
That would leave you guys equal numbers to us, and it would be easy pickings from there, 2 weeks from there half of your guild would be in my guild and we would run the server.
I can say this with 100% certainty, your guild is very unstable. The only thing you have going for you is that you have not had to deal with me.

eh i fully believe they can commit to the time requirements its going to take. from what i have seen most of the resistance can sustain 8 hour days.

let me contest sunday repop day o wait you have 40+ people online
let me contest VP o wait only like 12 keys outside of nihilum and you're rolling with 40 people in there
let me contest trakanon o wait you have 40+ people online
let me contest sky o wait i port in with 12 people without buffs ontop of your 20-40 man fully buffed raid

you're acting as if they are actually going to add variance, which they are not
Colgate
07-28-2013, 12:56 AM
variance wouldn't change the fact that nihilum has more unemployed neckbeards that are literally just waiting for the batphone to go out at all waking moments of their day and i cannot be assed to log onto EQ at a moment's notice for a pixelated dragon
they win at zerging dragons because they have less of a life than i do, congrats

you guys talkin about variance like you don't understand my OP. I'm not suggesting variance. I'm suggesting staggering the spawns. Did you not read it, or scrutinize the poll options, before you voted?
