There should be a long drawn out epic quest for each continent to get an in game ruler.

That in game char will get buffed (non strip-able) to make them strong enough to fight 1v12 (meaning it would probably take 2 full groups to unseat that ruler)

If the ruler is killed than they loose their powers and the quest must be done again.

There can only be one ruler per continent and each ruler cannot be rulers of multiple. If they leave their continent they loose their powers.

They can attack anyone and be attacked by anyone. Think of them like roaming uber mobs that can just spice up the game.

Also, they can get titles like Queen of Neriak, King of Kaladim etc...

Did you know the King of Ak'anon is a clockwork gnome?

What type of society lets a member of the slave class become their ruler?!?!

I think something like this would be fun. Highlander style. If you win, you can't get buffs/heals or any beneficial effects from anybody, can't group, can't pve, and if you can't kill 3 new (unique, as in you've NEVER killed them during your time as "king") ppl every day, you lose your powers/title. If you kill more than 3 ppl in one day, your kills roll over to the next days requirement. Additionally, need to be logged in at least 3 hours per day, for 5 days per week. Finally, I think the buffs shouldn't be so uber. May enough to take on only 3 or 4 ppl? Because whoever is king can still run around with a gank squad by his side.

Just spit balling. Could be fun to have something custom like this.

Oh and if he gets killed, title is transfered. If he let's his influence lapse (doesn't meet the other requirements) then quest opens up again to be completed. Also, quest has to be done start to finish without dying, no MQs, etc. As always, numbers subject to tweakage..

O. And *perhaps* the ability of anyone to /who the king and see what zone he is in. If this is the case, maybe make his buffs better.

Hehe I like your other ideas Pudge, seems a bit more balanced and thought out. King would change hands more. Its better from a gameplay perspective. I originally thought of my idea from an RP perspective, or sorta like the ultimate player mob. (like when people could log in as monsters)

Let's be real Nihilum would have "Ruler" status locked down. Would have quest ready to be MQed on a moment's notice and would use their Ruler's to make sure nobody EVER got any loot. Whatever Nihilum wants, Nihilum gets.

Actually the true ruler of Ak'anon was in fact a gnome, and he created the clockwork version of himself as a testament, and when he died the gnomes kept on the clockwork as their king in remembrance. L2Lore.

I can't remember exactly, I believe it may be part of an epic quest that explains this portion of Gnome lore. Possibly rogue epic?
