Benevolence on incandescent mask mob

In the temple of solusek ro, tonight, I had the 4 items ready to hand in for the incandescent mask: 3 runes and the glowing mask. I was playing my enchanter. I hadn't killed many shadowed mn yet, so my rep was neutral.

As per this thread, http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=700#m102618695279823 I cast benevolence on that quest giver. He resisted, didn't attack, but the other npc's in the room did.

As a beneficial spell, http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/spell.html?spell=173 , this spell shouldn't be able to be resisted. It's also odd that he didn't aggro, but the other npc's on his faction line did.

After I came back, and recovered my corpse, he was still neutral but talking to me. I handed him the 4 items without trying benevolence that time, but he ate the items without giving my the quest reward.

I have a screen shot of the text I an attach tomorrow as needed.

This happened on the red server as well, I was using my enchanter alliance stick to aggro mobs instantly due to alliance being resisted.

it happened to me when i do rod of insidious glamor. can GM help to reimbusre the items please?

I take it this is still pending an update. I had the same thing happen this morning: went to turn in items to Sultin for my Incandescent Mask, he resisted benevolence, and his buddies killed me.

Fortunately, I still have all the quest items. But if there is an update pending for this, I will wait to do the turn-in until I wont be risking another fiery death.

it will be pending for awhile (until next patch), until then just prepare to zone i guess before you cast it. or kill shadowmen for faction.
