Well the decision was made, LeBron James is going to Miami!
Kind of exciting but I have to agree with JB about the big 3 wont be able to play the same way they have the past 7 years if they want to win.

He wants rings - it makes perfect sense that he's headed to Miami. Can't wait to see how their roster fills out. =P

Totally agree on the reason to go to Miami, but as JB said they wont be the stand out palyers they have been. Theyll actually have to step it down a notch.

na I just don't see them complimenting each other well. They might win on talent alone though.

This whole media stunt is bullshit ego that shouldn't be supported with conversations like this. You're letting the terrorists win.

From a person who lives in Miami...
I don't give a fuck.

What is Lebron doing for me? Not a god damn thing. Wade, Bosh, and Lebron signing on with the Heat are going to hype everyone up, who will go to the games, boost the local economy, help local businesses and shit around the arena.

Directly relating to sports: You're only as good as your last game. Lebron, Bosh, and Wade's talent is undeniable, if they mesh well and win games remains to be seen.

So no one wants to note the fact that IF he had picked to play in NY, due to State income tax alone, over the course of his contract he would lose around 25mil to taxes...

No State income tax in Florida....

I think we know why he went to Miami now...

If sports are the opiate of the masses (although I think you bastardized that quote a little), what does that say about arguing about them on a message board for a video game?

I'm glad he got out, would have rather seen him go to the Bulls but that city was never going to win. No one worth a damn wanted to go to Cleveland and he did everything in his power to win. Let him go get some rings.

When Lebron James and Lindsay Lohan saturate prime time media it kind of gives me a cause for concern.

Late to party, Lebron to miami is awesome. Cleveland sucks regardless of what Drew Carey says.

I have to assume the sports is opiates for retards posts is a joke, because nobody out there can hate other sports and like tennis.

Has nobody learned anything from Hossa?

Mortgage your house. Get a loan from the mob. Put everything on Cleveland

I, too, am late to the party. However, I enjoy sports so I'll partake in the conversation. I agree with whoever said that he would have done better in Chicago, at least in terms of immediate impact. Chicago was a destination that would have generated immediate returns for him insofar as late round playoff contention.

With that said, the free-agency period is not over. If Miami can acquire, or develop their draft picks quickly, a big man to compete with Dwight Howard and Kendrick Perkins they will be ridiculous. However, at the moment they also lack a proven and true point guard. The point guard is easier to overcome in my opinion because Wade or Lebron can facilitate an offense. Now, whether they're willing to sacrifice points for facilitation remains to be seen. But, either of them can do it. The "big man" presence remains their biggest concern in my opinion.

They will fill out the roster easily with what they want. Others will WANT to come to Miami and sacrifice $$ to win a ring. Derick Fisher is already talking them. The big man problem could be the only thing holding them back but with those 3 of the floor the big man would just be a body, I doubt he would touch the ball much. Bosh, Lebron and Wade are all great rebounders.

I hope they destroy the league next season just to spite all the naysayers.

With those 3 all you need is a mediocre guy who can hit a 3... (Kapono back) and a big guy for defense. I've seen Jarvis Varnado's name thrown out, rookie from Mississippi State who just had an unreal amount of blocks last year. Dont need a big man who can score just a defensive one to body up with Dwight Howard.

People that think Wade Lebron and Bosh cant play 60 mins a game must not watch much. They dont log 60 but they all play a damn healthy amount, these are 23-26 year old guys, they are in their prime.

Theres only 48 mins a game so 60 isnt needed =P Im guessing individually theyll all 3 average 42-43 mins a game tho. As usual.

I mean it in the same sense that Aldous Huxley wrote about "Brave New World", that society is more concerned with trivial bullshit... but then again, most media / news is just that bullshit.

Sidenote, I didn't know what to think of Lebron pitching the ESPN special for his decision, but then realized he donated all the advertising money ($500 grand) to Boys and Girls club of America from it.

Yea, 'The Decision' wasnt needed but it was good media, didnt know about the donation, that really shows alot for Lebron imo. He left alot of $$ of the table and still gives to charity.

I "The Decision" was pretty ridiculous imo. He was serving his own growing celebrity more than anything with it. He just wants more attention.

It was like a stab in the back to Cleveland to do it that way on national television.

The charity thing is just PR move to make it look good. The guy is basically a billionaire, $500,000 is a drop in the bucket to him.

"The Decision" was really ridiculous but 100% of the ads and shit (so I hear) went to charity so meh. Let the guy play out what he missed by skipping college, and let him enjoy it.

Only loser in the situation is Cleveland, and Cleveland was a loser long before that decision.
