Currently, if you hail a non see invis quest NPC while invis, you can go through their entire dialog.
What I take from it is that Invis here makes you "Indiferent" rather than "Non Existing", which seems incorrect. Can't really find documentation on such a narrow yet basic mechanic, perhaps one of the ladies around here could try it on eqmac?
Best I found was in a VP key walkthrough found here, the page is dated after the revamp, but the guide itself comes from prerevamp: http://samanna.net/eq.shaman/vpkey.shtml
You can't use invisibility because Enrid has to see you

While I confirm from memory that hailing while invis only gives quest dialogue on see invis NPCs, I would like to add that you CAN do turnins while invis (if someone invises you after you open trade window with quest NPC, or if you use Hide ability successfully), to get your faction up to indiff.

Bump for research/discussion.
Yes it should if your invis. I remember doing turn ins and parts of quests invis because I was KoS to certain mobs.

Mob should not speak on a hail, if you are invis, unless they see thru invis.
Also, i see that its coded to face you, if u trigger a say event. Npcs that are sitting, should not turn. Anyone know any sitting npcs with quests, that should not move i can look at?

If they dont see thru invis, and u are invis, its now coded so they ignore what you say.
Pending update.

Hmmm. That script force him to stand. Starts a time for him to sit, but has no event timer. So there is an issue maybe.

That part of the quest used as evidence is from a part of the key quest that wasnt introduced until later.
From the guide you linked:
Veeshan's Peak was revamped in the summer of 2004. At that time, the quest for the key was extended.
That said I'm pretty sure he's right just having trouble finding concrete evidence from the era...

Try one of the monk sash npcs in qeynos.
One of them is usually sitting, if I recall correctly.
