View Full Version : Don't give swords to 50+ air pet?

I was told by an experienced mage not to give the sword of runes to the 50+ air pets because there hth overshadowed the nuke and it would just bring their dps down. Does this pertain to both vocarate and greater vocarate? Or just vocarate?

idk why people give sword of runes to their pets anyway. They don't do shit for them unless you are fighting summoned mobs. Weapons don't increase damage. All they do is enable dual wield on pets that need weapons to dual wield. If they have procs then that is all that will increase damage but like I said sword of runes proc only works on summoned mobs.

No it doesn't? It works on all mobs?

ward summoned only does damage to summoned mobs. the weapon will proc on anything but it wont do damage unless the mob is flagged as summoned.

I give these to my charmed pets all the time and they porc around 50 damage to everything I fight.

Then its a bug and needs to be nerfed to be classic.

sword of runes proccing (and doing damage) on all mob types when wielded by pets is classic.

Yeah I'm sorry but you're wrong. ANYWAY, back to the question at hand is it better or worse to hand the air pets summoned swords, if so both? Or just one?

i'm pretty certain the mage you talked to is a 'tard.

sword procs on all mobs and procs have nothing to do with the stun it's already casting.

+43 damage from procs is better than weapons with 0...simple math bros.

Well it was a guy who has played a mage since classic, he is lvl 60 and in TMO. He was also using a dps parser when he did it.

Well he was incorrect. Proc is zero cast time and does not interfere with cast stun.

Maybe he was talking about the epic pet, which has an innate proc that shouldn't be able to proc in the same round as sword of runes. Even if it blocked the innate proc, simple math tells us it won't lower dps.

I'll be sure to ask him about what procedure he used and how he verified his findings next time I run into him, he is usually right about these kinds of things, he taught me a lot about how to play a mage effectively way back when I started.

just cause he's TMO don't mean he's any good, sir.

Fully aware of that, however I knew him as a good mage way before he joined TMO.

so why bother posting here if you think your tmo mage buddy knows more than everyone else. just go ask him.

p.s. he's wrong

TMO is full of tards, it seems the core groups of the blue server pick only retarded psychophants to farm them gear and dictate the server.

a tmo mage told me the lvl 1 air pet was better than the lvl 49 one. said it has better proc rate.

Diverged to trolling.

Answer seems to be that a proc vs no proc = proc is more dps.
