Tomato king, I am contemplating getting a lemon tree (4-5 yrs old). Do you have any opinions on lemon trees or only tomatoes?

Will be indoor with sunlight.

Yep. If I'm going to have some type of plant, I'd like it to be useful. I definitely have enough room for either of these.

Those look actually edible for lemons. Love lemon flavored candy, pie, icing, that stuff in the middle of donuts.

Meyers lemons do great indoors, produce a lot and blossoms are very very fragrant

just remember for plants living inside its easy to overwater

Get the biggest pot you can and make sure you get potting soil not garden, if you can put some lime in the pot also ( will lower ph )

Your only problems will be leaf miners so before you bring it inside spray it outside with any kind of triple action neem or citrus type spray, if you kill them once you should be fine.

Try to buy your tree at a nursery instead of home depot or lowes, most of the time they are the wrong species , grafted wrong or just plain don't produce.

If you don't mind waiting you can buy your tree online from a trusted retailer and you will get either a dormant sprout or a little twig with 1 or 2 roots.

this can yield the highest quality tree.
