Saw one or two <Dream Tribe> members today, had never seen them before now, maybe just because I wasn't paying attention, or maybe because they are new.

The member I talked to, swiftlie, seemed like a fairly nice guy, though when I asked him what the guild was all about he responded with "we're just a little guild making big things happen" which did strike me is a little.... arrogant? But I doubt it was meant to be.

Haven't had any bad experiences with them or anything, just was curious as to where they came from, who's behind them, etc etc. It's good to get to know as much as you can about other guilds that are moving pieces on the chessboard so to speak.

Have you had any experiences with <DreamTribe>? Positive or negative? Are you a member of Dream tribe and feel like letting us all know what you're about?

Sound off ,ladies and gentlemen!

Theyre nice but in my experience hardly anyone ever grouped together

Was grouped with a few of them in Crushbone this weekend. Both were very nice. There was a higher level (for Crushbone, 35ish. Specc, I think?) running around buffing us from time to time, too.

I dunno how you got arrogant from what he said.....

Was he supposed to say "We're just a small guild with no hope of doing anything" ?

They seem decent.

Bioshock < Dream Tribe > is a retard..don't deal with him.

Dude tried selling me a Fungi and put a cloth shirt in there instead and magically said it's on his other character and suddenly logs off. Scum like this on p99 ruin the game.

Big things, indeed!

Grouped with three of them (Bioshock, another Erudite and a Halfling Druid) at Orc hill about a week ago. None of them talked, Druid was looting corpses faster than they could hit the ground. Felt more like somebody boxing than three guildies.

They are one of these crushbone/oasis recruiting guilds that invites everyone who wants to join... Wouldn't knock the entire guild because of a couple douches, although if the guy is walking around trying to scam people he should be ip banned.

I was doing chardok AOE and I died on the pull (one of the other enc LD) and a Burnt Wood Staff dropped.

We rolled on it and I won. The guy who had it traded it to me and i didn't really pay attention, just saw it was a staff and clicked accept.

Logged back in to sell my Burnt Wood STaff and only found the shitty burnished wooden stave in my bags. Couldn't find the guy online. Guy from the group told me that he confronted the guy and he said it was a mistake.

Saw the guy online and tried to talk to him, he straight up ignored me.

His name was Sketchness, if anyone cares. 10k item i guess he feels good about pulling a fast one over me.

But yeah, you don't always check, if you're distracted or, you know, you're expecting people to be honest.

All you need is one poor bastard who's too eager, too tired, or just too lazy to bother checking and some scammer has just made more plat than they could have in weeks of legitimate grinding. Transfer, /q, delete character, and the only way justice is served is to ask even more of a bunch of already overworked volunteer GMs.

Even catching them in the act doesn't deter them, since all you do is remove step one from the above and they're running another level 1 with a newbie tunic back to EC ten minutes later to start all over again.

I tend to expect the worst of people (especially online) and am usually proven wrong.

But always expecting a scam has saved me quite a bit of money over the years from the few people trying to pull a fast one. I always double check the item in trade and count the zeros before i hit trade. Nothing worse then sending someone 100k instead of 10k and hoping he doesnt forcequit with your typo.

yeah, but he was a lvl 59 faction puller so i wasn't expecting something based on his name. Not like he was a level 1 with 'TunnelScammer' as a name.

Nobody gets IP banned.

And yeah, new casual guilds can really only build their numbers by inviting pretty much anyone that asks. It's more likely that the scammer just took the invite to make himself look legit, not that the guild itself is promoting it.

It's pretty easy to avoid being scammed in this game. Sadly the same crap people have been doing in MMOs since the first person logged into UO still works on some people.

Why not?

If they want to build a reputation, they may need to put a little effort into recruiting.

All the lvl 5's in gfay must be thoroughly vetted before being allowed to enter!

Off topic, but this is false.

Pretty sure its true. Too easy to change your IP for it to be enforceable.

Doesn't mean IP's don't get banned, just means there are ways around it.

Just my two cents on "Dream Tribe". I've had the opportunity (if you want to call it that) of meeting a few of these classy toons. They seem to simulate wannabe gangsters and resort to name calling and bitching up a storm in /ooc for no apparent reason. It seems to me that the majority of the guild is pretty much garbage and really do not understand the mechanics of the game. Not really a fan myself, hope that they can work on their attitudes and get their guild's name out of the dirt.

It's not like level 5 means age 5. While you may not be able to determine skill at level 5, it's the same person behind the character at level 50.

Maybe they aren't trying to build a reputation. Maybe they just want an active guild chat. It's a choice.

I'm only level 5 as I just started on here a week ago and with family I don't have huge amounts of time to put into it. I just play because I loved this game back in the 1999-2002 timeframe. I thought I played my classes well back then and I know that I can play them well now. Just being level 5 doesn't mean I suck, just means I don't have the same amount of time to play the game as others (although I would play more if I could).

And just so we are clear I'm not trying to toot my own horn so to speak, just making a point that some people don't have the time that others have to put into a game like EQ that takes a huge grind to reach the top.

P.S. I love Everquest.

I almost joined the guild because they started a reddit recruitment thread about the exact same time I started on this server (a couple months ago); however, I wound up finding and joining a different guild instead.

They seemed like a new-player-friendly guild based on the recruitment thread.
