View Full Version : Game Mechanics: Manastone should not be usable in any zone besides Classic

Currently usable in the Ruins of Old Paineel (the Hole). Manastones were never able to be used past anything that wasn't part of classic EQ (The Hole, revamped CT, etc).

Here's some forum proof but from 2005. Does anybody else remember this?

Only works in old-world pre-kunark zones. Any old-world revamped zone before mistmoore/paw the manastone was DISABLED (like the hole and CT). No Kunark, no velious. Until mistmoore and splitpaw there were no places to use this beyond lv 54 or so. Best your could do was zone to a "legal" zone, stone up, and zone back. Best used for powerleveling and LDoN wipe recovery.

Recently PoK was changed to allow it too (since no mobs there). Manastone can help out in tradeskills for chanters if you need to use mana vial or cultural brick spells, etc. "

Correct, shouldn't work in ANY zone that wasn't released in classic. This includes Temple of Solro, revamped CT, Planes, The Hole, The Warrens etc.

Currently it works in the Hole. Need fix ASAP.

Not that it matters but the pok thing was a bug that was eventually fixed. But yes, it's currently not working, correctly, in sol ro temple and shouldn't work in the hole either.

I'm wrong actually. I found this in a patch note from Sept 9 2003.

"Manastone is no longer usable in The Hole."

Yeah when hole first dropped we could man stone. I had no idea they changed it later.

This changed with the Hole and CT revamp, when the zones were made inline with velious/luclin content*.

It was grandfathered for Temple of Sol Ro since it wasn't a plane. I'll take a trip out to the Warrens and Stonebrunt to see if it works out there.

But, Manastone will always work there, since the removal was post Luclin.
