Any word on when Velious will be released on p99?

I heard Velious is on LoZ and thinking about checking it out.. Love that expansion

They have Aeolwind on board doing content work and I think a few other things.

He appears to be pretty dedicated to his craft and doesn't mind rolling up his sleeves to talk to the crazies in the community for some infos.

I had THOUGHT they were going to use whatever is EQEmu for Velious (no idea what's on there or not) and then just finish what was left.. of course pacing themselves as others worked on it and pulling from that.

After reading Nilbog's posts, it appears he and those dedicated to that part of the project are going to do most of the zones from the ground up because, well, people go for the hand grenade approach with their server content, where here, we're looking for the sniper rifle.

It's going to be a while.

The doc's suggestion, if you're still dedicated to being ready for winter, is get a few chars up and ready.

Oh really? What i remember from velious is that it would take a huge amount of people to kill Velious mobs right? I remember like 60 man raids and a huge amount of clerics in CH rots. Is this server going to be classic like that? Would the populations fail to support that kind of raid?

Legacy of Zek is supposed to be more casual right? Wonder whats its like to kill the main content there cause I really just want to get back in and explore Velious :)

The only way for the box to survive velious is if they dumb down the content, because otherwise it's going to be a 1 guild (Nihilum) server.

LoZ velious content is fairly easy. Mean Mugn got the server first Vulak last night with about 23 people (lots of boxes). The ability to kill mobs with less people on LoZ means you can have a 50 pop server with around 3 guilds pvping each other over content and not have to worry about needing a zerg guild to do content.

I love the classicness of the server, but between the necessity of having large numbers for content, and the huge lead nihilum has and server resets....your will to even try just burns away.

Last time I checked Force killed Trakanon last with a respectable 25ish raid. It's amazing what can be accomplished when a guild isn't led by retards.

While my guild, Nihilum, exploited during classic and continues to do anything to get all raid targets I feel that it is unfair to label us as cheaters. Are there cheaters in my guild? Sure. Are there people who have been banned multiple times on multiple characters? Yes.

Does this make us cheaters? No.
