ooc level req

im sure the level 10 limit was put in to avoid some kind of abuse or another

but as someone who just started a playing again it's a little bit of a drag to not be able to communicate with other players until i hit level 10.

anyway, maybe with the xp bonus there are other new players like myself and it'd be nice to have some way to speak with the world.

sadly, we had a bunch of idiots spamming ooc on lvl1 toons. and since accts are free, they just kept making new accounts.

level 10 will come before you know it, and reading it will give you a chance to decide who u may want or not want to talk with,

Most people won't mind if you send them a tell asking them to say something in ooc for you.

spose I'll just tough it out then. think 5 would be a little nicer as 1-5 solo is no problem as a melee, but 6-10 is a full day. not a big difference in the end though, so nbd.

Before red99 was even created, I suggested a "newb guild" that any new char would default to... mainly to help newbs find each other and level. Ready, built in communication system... and I'm sure some vets would even remain in-guild and never leave, staying to help newbs.

Whether they are alts or not, least it gets ppl immersed in some kind of community, which is really what EQ (and especially eq PvP) is about

seems like a good idea but it's pretty "non 1999 everquest". competing goals of making the game work with the current community and altering the original game...
