Well I signed up when it was set for May 25th which I could have been at. Then it was moved to June 1st. Unfortunately I had my daughters t-ball game and awards ceremony at 11:30 am until 3 pm. Then I had my daughters gymnastic exhibition from 5 pm-8 pm. So instead of just not showing like so many others, I asked if anyone wanted to play.

The BotB was supposed to be at 1 pm.

Anyway if you watch the Elderan/Salt fight Elderan was at 50% Salt was at 25%. Salt disced and landed a 1080 BS which dropped Elderan to almost death, game over.

Bad luck can happen with the /random number generator.

Outplayed? Nah, missed every backstab round prior to my disc backstab landing out of desperation. Landed 1/7 backstab rounds and still won the fight. Also would have rather had wendolyn show up and beat me then win the whole thing, but oh well.

I dunno what to tell you, there's a reason nihilum has been on top and its because nizzar is a good raid leader who doesn't hold grudges and manages multiple personalities extremely well and takes nothing to heart or personally. He's kind and extremely generous and he's prolly one of the nicest people on the server. It's not by coincidence nihilum keeps winning.

If you want to brag about meaningless 1v1's or shit on this server and hang your hat on that go for it but why not play a MMORPG with pvp that had actual skill involved as opposed to EQ if you're looking for that? i think colgate has died maybe 12 times total with 6 of them being to trak teeth/conflag wands, 2 deaths to tstaff/skean, 2 from earth pet root when massively outnumbered, and the rest from incompetent healers/bards in mass pvp. i also have never carried a soulfire or prayers of life, i typically dont have gate pots, and i more often than not pvp alone on my monk against groups

Nihilums success for the most part has been because it sheen unbelievably stable for a MMORPG guild and that I attribute to nizzar. It's stability has attracted many applicants, including yourself at one point. I understand the low pop problem and the size problem, though recently we struggle to field even 25, but a large part of this is because of the sheer level of astounding incompetence present in the opposition. You've played on both sides you know the difference. Nizzar says hate 830 or sends bat phone out everyone is there 815 ready to go. You tell azrael 830 people are showing up at 1am and are starting off with a droga farming session.

Nizzar doesn't take shit personal and because of that he's done a great job dealing with all potential drama in the guild as opposed to the other guilds, you have to give him some credit for that. Ill be the first to admit, and I haven't changed my stance, that the holo ban was bullshit, but I was in holo that guild as fun as it was, was already dying before the ban, everyone in holo can attest to this, it made no real difference long term, nihilum still would've remained on top ultimately, as no guild has been able to offer pve success with pvp success.

As far as checkraise, melees were awful in classic, less mr gear so root was a larger problem and being rooted as a melee in classic was insta death. Couple that with the fact it was me and like eight people on the server vs fourty nihilum, yes I plugged a lot. Mages were bullshit 100% but so are tstaffs and I don't see you giving grief to cwall for his kills.

Side note I hated when nihilum had 40+ people and have always advocated against it. The fact is we barely get the minimum requisite numbers to raid currently. This is a content locked emulated server with fast burn out so if you don't keep recruiting you also put yourself at risk of not being able to compete any longer. It's a hard line to balance, but I'm on the side of less rather than more.

Watch the fight again, and ask yourself who was getting in more swings, and more backstab attempts?

Nizzar was getting outplayed other than one big crucial mistake on my part, I got pissed at my 5th missed backstab round in a row and chased in for another quick damage round and ate a full double for around 600.

Nizzar attempted 2 backstab rounds the entire fight, landed both. I attempted 7, landed 1. Fortunately for me it counted.

The fights with Gream I could go into detail on how I lost, but I've already beat myself up about it enough and I'm moving on.

I was at 22% hp going into the final joust that killed Nizzar from 41%. Came out of the joust at 17 or 18% as he died.

Nizzar and Gream I don't think were landing many jousted backstabs (big dips in opponent health).

I might have used them against Stasis because I felt like I had something to prove against him and likely woulda gone super try hard.

Stasis has rocked my shit in every 1v1 on the server, however most of those took place in small cramped spaces like sol a and sol b where I just honestly don't feel comfortable even walking around in on a barbarian, let alone trying to joust rogue v rogue.

I still hold to the fact that there are only 4 rogues better than me on this server(Wendolyn, Stasis, Salem (though we've never fought 1v1 and watching his videos I feel we are close to even), and Tarwine). I played a rogue a lot on live even though I only got to level 35 on it, so I never had to deal with discs and tstaffs.

In my opinion direct damage was the way to go, I got a pair lent to me by big Salem but they were only level 2....had I actually put in the time to farm the right poisons I might have beat Gream even with my horrendous round 2 performance.

Yes sad I couldn't make it to claim my title as I would have kited Gream with Bow of the Underfoot and Shardwing arrows as stated (will trade 45 dmg for 35dmg shots and faster delay all day) but RL captured my time, so grats to everyone who participated it looked fun.
