When facing 2 mobs, and Gabantik is outmatched, and you cast, and Gabantik does not have adequate aggro on the 2nd mob, and the second mob attacks you instead of Gabantik, and you are in a dungeon with enemies behind and in front of you...being a mage is not so cool.

But they are a blast to play. I've probably had some of my most fun moments on a mage in addition to some of my most frustrating moments.

Wait till you get a few levels. 3 mobs will gangbang little old Gasartik. I played a mage on live for 10 years. Soloing is fine as long as you are in a safe area with single pulls and no possibility of adds. When you get an add your pet doesn't really give a shit. He's gonna attack whatever one he wants to. And if you ever decide to raid you will pretty much just be staring at a wall dropping rods the whole time. Been there done that no thanks.

Necro on the other hand can solo higher level mobs, CC adds, insane mana regen, rez, pull, fd, the list goes on.
